    "as an X, Y, Z" always gives me a framing of skepticism and defensiveness. Credentialed posting feels gross to me. Appealing to Reddit is dirty work.

    I'd actually, perhaps controversially, give a first impression that he cooks alright for himself. I notice that he's doing this in relation to the new year. I've been eating pretty dogshit recently, juggling and letting drop social opportunities and obligations. Okra gumbo, oysters, and black eyed peas make me feel like somebody's home in his brain.

    There's more than meets the eye here.

      i see what you mean about the second part of the post, i'm certainly not trying to shit on anyone for that (not that you were accusing me of that, i just mean i appreciate the insight)

      i agree with the "as an x, y, z" thing. it just always comes off as some sort of cope or something when someone says that. to me that's what really got me about the post. i was a single millennial at a point too, but i was one that had heard of fruits and vegetables.
