I really want us to come around to the idea that conventionally unattractive people should appear on tv in non-news roles. I want to see the 180cm 100kg transwoman in a love story get their partner. I want to see a fat bald person come out on top and be happy. Im tired of beautiful people in everything
Oh I was just using that as an example. I just want normal-ish people on tv as main characters.
To be clear what I don't want is a Heather Matarazzo type who is better looking than many people being called "ugly". I want normal people so that people can watch actors who aren't the ideal lead happy lives.
Oh absolutely want cis actors. I have wanted this since seeing Steven Spinella win back to back Tonys in the 1990s for Angels in America and realizing despite how incredible he was he wouldn't be on screen much.
I'm not really a huge TV person so this isn't quite the same thing but it's something that's turned me off the new Baldur's Gate 3: all the characters are just too shiny for me. It's something I really appreciate about disco elysium for having their characters looking like etc, the art style all leaves very little room for conventionally attractive characters (indeed, it's a conscious decision by the designers that the lead duo is supposed to be 'pretty ugly')

I will not stand for this disrespect for these beautiful lads
They are deeply based but when I was just getting into the game the art style made everyone seem kinda grotesque in a really good way :)
they seemed like regular people, it was a nice change of pace
UK TV has toms of people that look normal-ish on TV. I think that's healthy
That's neat!
Yeah, except for , and klaasje everyone looks like shit in the game
