I just got one of these things. My weed was supposed to arrive yesterday, and some ketamine, but only the vape arrived on time.

Was low-dosing my drug of addiction in anticipation of doing test and titration doses of the ket so I was absolutely crawling up the walls for the first half of the day until I knew nothing was coming.

But! This lil vape doohickey made for a pretty chill fidget toy during all that coping.

Do you have a dynavap or one of the clones, and do you rate them as highly as all the influencer mufuckaz that contributed to my buying one with what little cash I have to work with this fortnight?

I really didn't want to slip right back into combustion after my tolerance break, and my old vape's batteries are mostly worn out and it's filthy and falling apart so yea. Got one. Looking forward to hopefully trying it out today.

Those are for vaping solids not carts right? Hadn't heard of it before but it looks pretty cool.

I've been using a g-pen as a dry flower vape for years and my battery is on its way out too so I'll be in the market for a new one soon. I like having pretty fine-grained temp control so I can adjust which compounds I'm getting. Does the dynavap have something like that?

Interested to hear how your experience with it is!

Yeah that's right it's mostly for dry herb. I've heard that with the right bits and bobs you can do some concentrates, or at least mix concentrates with a lil herb to good effect.

When I was first getting into vaping ages go I went all out and got the storz n bickle mighty, i dug being able to temperature-ramp and enjoy the terpenes off rip then slowly increase through the range of cannabinoids etc. But it wasn't smoking, and I was a classic bonghead, so inevitably I just ended up getting a whip adapter and doing max temp rips to get as close to the "full entourage effect to the dome" experience as possible. It was the only way to keep from going back to combusting which I just love ritualistically and all that. It's super easy for me to backslide into smoke.

So these days fine temp control isn't as important to me as full extraction, preferably in one hit. My understanding is that you have basically zero temp control, and that if you want to get fine grained with it, you have to really just use the thing a lot and experiment and perfect your technique, timing, etc etc. Sadly I think the base model type thing I've got is too lightweight (literally not enough thermal mass) to safely and easily do complete one hit full extractions, but it'll get me by and I'll have time to practice before maybe buying modifications to make it more in line with what I'm seeking out.

Might not be suitable as a main piece for your circumstances though. I've heard a lot of reviewers talk about it like it's either their fave vape or second fave to one with temp control for your sort of tastes. No batteries is such a major

Allegedly, and this is all from sus sources like youtube, and the occasional redditor, these sorts of vapes are still super terpey and flavourful and stuff. Which is good. Hoping I can keep my tolerance in check.

Hoping for others who might have first hand knowledge to chime in tho

edit: actually I guess my first was the MFLB which was also very much a "do it by feel" sort of vape, but battery powered. I think there's a lot of scope to enjoy these sorts of crude vapes and learning their quirks to get the best-for-you experience outta them, but who knows.

Yes!!! That’s my go-to. I got the silicone one recently and it’s amazing- very easy to clean, and works great with a bong. I’m doing sobriety for a bit- but have been really interested in getting an induction wand to use with it instead of using a torch. I’ve had decent luck using it for keef too- sandwiched with dry herb it doesn’t get sucked up too much. I used an xmax v2 for years, and battery operation has its perks (is a bit easier to session), but I really like the Dvap (aka dave-vapthews-band) for a quick hit and go. (Sorry about the DVB reference, it never gets a laugh irl either, but you’ve gotta try!)

OH! and one tip I’ve picked up for temp control (at least for my skill level) is that a multi-flame torch is more likely to scorch the shit out of it, but a single-flame torch, while much slower, allows for full extraction over multiple smaller rips. And if smell is an issue, I've found that slow, single-flame method to be more discreet.

You sell yourself short, comrade! I actually very lightly wheeze laughed after a bit of incredibly slow mental processing. lol, LIRL even.

Yeah it's a finicky little fucker. I got lit but I think I need to try a different torch with it. Idk.

I love my dynavap, I've been having to be sober lately for reasons, but hitting a vap cap of hash and flower with a little blow torch is always wonderful. I'm not good at explaining how to make it work the best, but I think its fun to play with different heating methods. I used one of those electric induction heaters for a while, but I ended up giving it to my friend as a gift and I've just stuck with torches since then.

After a few sessions with it I'm pretty happy using it with a torch. I won't harp on in this reply tho since you're on a sobriety kick rn. Hope you're doing okay.

i used my friends one before with the induction heater thingy they sell and it rocked, hit super hard. kinda expensive setup though. can imagine it's a bit finicky in comparison with a torch.

yeah if I wasn't in a hurry to get something that won't get me blazing it again I'd try wait til there was a sale with an induction heater. Looks fucking sick now I've hit it with the torch tho. Unboxed that Case Hardened skin.

I LOVE mine. What I would do with the default cap is one hit pointing the torch at the tip, ceased right at the click, and a followup heating ~1 full second at the base to go to SPAAAAAAAAACE.

Your assessment of insufficient thermal mass for 1 hit extraction is correct.

There is an Official Armored Cap (non-affiliate link to a canadian vendor), along with a metal sleeve by Simrell collection (non-affiliate link to canadian store) which increase thermal mass for "I can't believe it's not a bong rip!".

Get the cheapest M you can find with either one of those for maximum dorifto.

I've had a 2018m and a 2021m, and a 2020 omni Ti tip and while they do genuinely improve each year, the basic functionality remains unchanged.

They also have the silicone B with a half bowl tip designed for one hit extraction where spinning is optional. It is also shaped to natively fit in a 14mm downstem, although I have not personally tried it.

My setup back in the day was a Simrell Techtonic stem + Omni Ti Tip + Perforated cap mated to a percless straight tube 14mm bong.

Don't buy a glass stem as your only option, but my bb6 was siiiiick while it lasted.

fuck yeah, thanks. I'll give your technique a go during my next session.

My tolerance must be rock bottom right now I'm still pretty lit, didn't pack it properly the first bowl and tipped it early, nearly combusted the second one (came so close to a teardown and clean fail, phew) very uneven ABV. I'll figure it out.

yeah I was thinking about getting an FMJ or smn, but I think it's wiser to learn the vape first then upgrade if I need to foolproof it for friends and/or simplify/perfect one hit extractions.

I'm messing around with the M7 XL.

You go any further than two* big hits on a standard cap?

I came so close to setting that bowl on fire that I had my non-smoking housemate come sniff the vape for me just to make sure. The ABV at the tip was right on the point of scorched, probably loaded too much in.

Gonna switch out the brulé torch for one of my uh, more classic utensils.

          edit: typo'd

No, but I personally like more potent abv, the color of a triple triple coffee.

I heat roughly where the bowl ends and heat dissipation fins begin as the "bottom". that i spin. Give me a minute and I will MSpaint a picture of a 2021 M.

Also, if you are trying to get FUCKED, the dugout or stand with the magnet can remove a hot tip handsfree (with some practice) and cools it down significantly faster than air.

www.futo.ca (the OEM for the officially licensed dugout) and etsy have cheaper alternatives to the DYNAVAP DYNASTASH dugout. I think "LevatedCreations" was the one I had.

I am indeed generally trying to get completely toasted.

It was a tough call not spending the extra for one of those magnet cap remover / weed stash / abv container dealies. I'm glad I restrained cuz we've got unexpected expenses dropped in our lap, but yeah that's on the get next list.

Luckily before I got soft I did enough food service / "kitchen" work that many of my finger tips are basically like a kung fu warrior- very little nerve sensation. Dated a chef way back too, a lot of her young hard ass attitude rubbed off on me. Long story short I can just pop the cap off with the tip of the torch, reload and it's very little risk or discomfort getting the cap back on n situated. Still, the contraption is available locally and would make things easier, no sense in ongoing damage. Haven't burnt myself yet tho, heheh might change my cavalier tune.

Lol just remembered getting a disturbingly large burn working at a kebab shop and the boss freaking out and I'm like "BURN SPRAY? WHAT THE FUCK IS BURN SPRAY LET ME GET BACK TO WORK" lmao

              Anyway. Thanks for the diagram.

Yo, by "bottom" can you describe exactly which end of the cap you're heating? Near the de-bowler or the end with the bimetalic bit in it and the "rim" that looks like an extractor could remove it from a firearm if it were a shell casing? If you get what I mean.

edit: seen a lot of people say aim for the N in the logo, but I was fucking around and just torched a bowl. Pretty convenient how you can just blow the abv out lol.

Honestly should probably have saved my money and gone with this but the silicone just doesn't appeal on a tactile level. When it's cold this thing is fun to fingerfuck.
