:this: Nader might pretty much be a liberal himself, but he really actually cares about working people, and wanted to make a material difference for the better in their lives, which is unacceptable to the bourgeoisie. He got some stuff done against the motor vehicle companies and their lobbies when they were at peak power by fighting against them with extreme persistence (they got caught red-handed hiring private spooks to tail and intimidate him during a court case for example).

Because they needed someone to blame back in 2000 without critically looking at the system, Supreme Court or daring to be angry at the other party.

SCOTUS flat out handed the election to Bush. Libs should've been angry at them, but like with most things, that requires them to start looking at the system and status quo that they love so much, and once they look deep into that, they don't like it very much. To put it simple, they can't see the forest for the trees.

Libs were more obsessed with civility and "taking the high ground" in 2000. Sound familiar with them in the recent few years?

On the other hand; something that always makes me laugh is that they get so mad at the Green Party and accuse them of stealing votes from Democrats, however, the Libertarian party is a bigger deal as a third party. Gary Johnson did pretty good in 2016 and yet that was really taking votes away from Trump, but you don't hear a bunch of screaming about it from the GOP.

They've hated Nader since 2000. It's actually a pretty damn good example that most of them aren't going to radicalize and become leftists no matter how much you degrade yourself letting these smug fuckers talk down to you. They believe in the system and the status quo. If they didn't, they would've directed their anger towards SCOTUS for handing that election to Bush, opposed to the third party candidate.

Yeah they really did him dirty. This is a Nader quote from Chris Hedges' Death of the Liberal Class: “I don’t care about my personal legacy. I care about how much justice is advanced in America and in our world day after day. I’m willing to sacrifice whatever ‘reputation’ in the cause of that effort. What is my legacy? Are they going to turn around and rip seat belts out of cars, air bags out of cars?”

My parents still beat themselves up because they voted Nader. They are pretty based, but the shame they developed from it held them back a lot.

Because their leaders told them to. The leadership can never fail, it can only be failed. I think in some ways it's similar to the Russiagate thing in modern times; the problem is never with the leadership and it's definitely not anything systemic in our country, it's scary extremists and outside forces disrupting our perfect system.

Of course, they love W now, but they still hate Nader for supposedly giving us W.

They want power to be held within the democratic party because that's their grift. What is way too often attributed to ideology should be far more often attributed to the personal grift of the DNC professional class establishment.

Nader was a weak target and it would've been more electorally toxic to try and delegitimize the supreme court at a time when Republicans were much more powerful in elite media circles than they are today.

In 2000 Gore won the fucking election, there was just a judicial coup that handed the presidency to Bush. If there's any singular thing you can point too where the election of someone like Trump just became evitable it's this.

Who cares? Who can understand the mind of such a creature, if it can even be said to have a mind.
