It struck a nerve when libs cry about "now they will ban abortion" when more than half of states where its legal have at best one clinic, in the capital city, for the whole fucking thing bigger than an average Europe country in size and population.

No. Those fuckers do what most people can't: they go to a very expensive medic and get rid of it. Poor people? Oh you should have used a condom sweaty, or travel 300 km to the only public abortion clinic in the state that happen to be sieged 24/7 by lunatics.

Ugh those fucking protesters. Nobody is happy to get an abortion, it's such a painful and difficult decision to make. And on top of it you get those fuckers jeering at you, like you don't already want to collapse and weep already.

      Ugh.

And plan for 3 days or more in terms of waiting period, and god forbid the state passes a heartbeat ban, so if your fetus even so much as goes du-dum-du-dum, you are screwed.

Yes. They could re-introduce slavery and as long as they called it something like "open term fixed abode contracts" they'd be fine.

        as punishment for crime.

could the government in theory just sell prisoners to private individuals as slaves as punishment?

Convict leasing is still not illegal federally, only in some states is it outlawed rather than just having been phased out, it amounts to near enough the same thing and in many cases was proven to be deadlier than regular slavery. If you buy a slave you are likely to at least try and keep them healthy enough to work but leased prisoners you only pay for their time so an individuals health is of no concern, many prisoners (often arrested under the black codes) were worked or beaten to death under convict leasing in the post emancipation years.

Bloomer brain: This happening would almost assuredly result in the irreversible decline of US hegemony and power and the evaporation of their empire and lead the way to socialist revolutions in other countries having a chance.

Also uh it's already inaccessible for a lot of people, this will result in people actually coming out to fight for it and benefit those people who have up until now been ignored or given thoughts and prayers by women in places like I am (California) that are never going to outlaw abortion. Spare a thought for the terrified 15 year old who's pregnant in the deep south and the nearest clinic to her is a hundred miles, has a two day waiting period and she would require the consent of her raving fundamentalist Christian parents in order to get it. Girls like that, women in those states with lower incomes have been in the hole for a while, it was increasingly moving back to being a thing that for many was accessible only to those with means.

Also the more liberal fecklessness and failures that pile up the more people start to question the liberal establishment, the more they begin to be open towards Marxism. There's danger but also opportunity.

It was always going to come to this. Do not be misled by the liberal notion that a little more compromise at some point in time could have avoided the coming fascism. It was inevitable as a result of the workings of capitalism and the failures of a liberal bourgeois "democracy" that this decay would occur. Liberal rule does not help Marxism grow. The greatest explosion was after Trump's victory.

What do you want Amerikkkan? A lie about how revolution is just around the corner? That if only we vote for Biden and give the Democrats more power for a decade things will be fixed?

The fact is the US is the evil empire. They are the global hegemon and champion of capitalism. The fact is they intervene to prevent other countries from choosing socialist rule. They will continue to do this as long as able.

The fact is also at present the American public is the most propagandized to set on the planet. They are in a word brainwashed through and through with anti-communism and pro-capitalist clap-trap. Their material conditions also do not align with those of the global proletariat in the global south and developing nations. They are labor aristocracy and benefit from exploitation of the global workers and the draining of superprofits from exploited nations to support their low cost of living and high quality of life.

The fastest way to socialism (and we are running out of time with climate change, we cannot wait, we must have it as quickly as possible to prevent a billion people dying) is the US no longer having power. The fastest realistic way to that is collapse in one form or another. Not necessarily the US breaking up but losing power and sway. This is not happening anyways as a result of excellent scheming by ML's this is happening thanks to the capitalists themselves and the imperialists themselves. The only question is how fast it happens. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Try having some solidarity instead of whining about what your lot in life MIGHT end up being. Think about how many Soviets died to defeat the Nazis. Think about how many communists were killed thanks to the US, how many tortured horribly and stand tall and proud. For if you are a communist then you are part of something more.

It's impossible to predict with any certainty these things. The thing about revolution, decay and collapse is they work slowly at first, slowly gnawing away then suddenly and unpredictably decades happen in the span of weeks. All we can say for certain given our powerful materialist lens is that the US is in decline and suffering from severe internal contradictions that are tearing at it.

i know as an american, you’re taught your life matters more than everyone else’s, but it’s not true. you don’t have to happily accept a metaphorical death, but it is wise to look into why even metaphorically you want to cling onto the american empire lasting and thus ruining the rest of the world with it.
