Everyone is dunking on Chris Hayes but let's not overlook the doofus he's responding to who thinks that bourgeois billionaire owned media is "the only outlets that can force change in this country." When motherfucker? When has it ever in the history of Earth ever been the case?

Yeah media is just a propaganda outlet for its owners. Media has no power to change the powers that be, they are just a mouthpiece for them

Accidentally admitting that capitalism is incompatible with meaningful action on climate change

We covered the California wildfires pretty extensively. Of course, California is somewhere that MSNBC residents actually live. Greece is nearly on the other side of the planet.

This isn't strictly a capitalism problem. It's a problem with driving public interest in any subject matter. You can lead people around by the nose with John-Bennett Ramsey stories because every pedo in the nation will stop to watch your show once she flashes on screen. But simply showing B-reel footage of a brush fire in a foreign country doesn't compel anyone's attention.

You're talking about a media system that got Biden the nomination and soon presidency. They can drive interest in whatever the fuck they want to.

if someone lit Chris Hayes on fire, it would be okay not to put him out because stopping the immolation would be bad for ratings

You don’t know that we should focus group it and decide.

is that possible without a control group, or would he have to be bisected and then only one half of him soaked in kerosene

Maybe we could just light him up and people put up their hands when they want him put out.

I don’t, fuck science. Bunch of nerds just come up with problems, never any solutions.

Nobody likes that guy, stupid science jerks.

Stupid science idiots made the bomb and then got real depressed about it. What did you think was going to happen? Literally stick in your own bike spokes meme.

Fucking hell, if they hadn't done that, the Soviet Union probably would have had postwar control of Asia instead of the US military. Do you have any idea how much communism we'd have?

The soviets would have invaded Japan.

Might have made the Americans even more insane.

I mean, that's capitalism for you.

I wouldn't piss on you if you were burning, because I can get better ROI on my pee elsewhere.

Neither. They use both as cover to hide their actual purpose. ideological mouthpieces and propaganda outlets for their owners

Come on Chris, don't talk about ratings.

If I had to throw him a bone, I would guess he doesn't care that much about ratings. He just knows that he would lose his platform if his show bombed.

And what are these incentives Chris? Huh Chris?

After I saw one of Chris's tweets (which to be fair could have been sarcasm) I tweeted my self that even the most well meaning Americans can be dumb as fuck.
