Since this is like the hundredth joke I've read about white people jogging

How does everyone else do cardio?

One factor is that the people in lower income neighborhoods are more likely to have jobs requiring physical labor, or a job where you're standing all day. After doing a job like that, you have zero motivation to exercise, and you often don't need to to keep healthy. It's also just a fact that lower income workers tend to have longer hours, more stressful jobs, longer commutes, all of which contribute to a lack of motivation at home. It's the same reason people who get on poor people's ass for eating McDonald's instead of cooking all their own meals are full of shit. Cooking is hard work when you're just desperate to relax.

I do my cardio at my Amazon warehouse job. 10 hours a day zooming around throwing 40 pound boxes and pushing carts of shit. That’s the difference I guess. A lot of lower income working class people have jobs that are so physically intensive that, A. they don’t really need any extra cardio or B. they don’t have any energy left at the end of the day to be running up and down the street

Oh come on - I used at one of those warehouses too and I was still unfit as fuck. It's walking a heavy object along which I'm sure is more than most office workers do, but I'd still get out of breath walking up the stairs or riding my bike.

I think it's the latter - fuck all energy. I stopped working out when I started working there. Too exhausted after the fucking grim night shiftm

I guess it depends on the specific task you do and which warehouse. I do Unload on the induction line at a DPS and it’s a more intense workout than anything I’ve ever done tbh. It’s basically lifting weights and doing squats for 5 straight hours. I’ve been there 2 months and I’ve got muscles now that I didn’t know existed

Plenty of black people jog. I grew up in Philly and I saw black people jogging around the park all the time, they just usually did it in sweats and white sneakers. It’s more when you see white dudes jogging with ear buds and Brooks that shit starts looking grim.

Like imagine ur neighborhood being too dangerous to go jogging or you work a shitty min wage job and youre too depressed and stressed about that to consider jogging.

Or your coping mechanism is eating shitty food because the only grocery store is literally the mexican one on the otherside of fucking town or in the next city over.

Or all these things at once

The "white" comment is a socioeconomic descriptive term to a class of ppl thay white ppl often belong to not just a race term

Fr. People get mugged in broad daylight where I'm living now. With the daylight hours going down too, I have a really small window to work out at the outdoor gym.
