Well, you see, change doesn't just happen overnight. It takes time really. You just gotta be more patient, you can't just change things too drastically. What do you mean why? You just can't , it's bad. And of course it hasn't worked, those republicans/democrats always get in the way of the good work we do. That is why you have to go vote, so we can continue changing things one step at a time in the right direction and direct the right funds, form the necessary committees and determine the right steps to take...

If we win the revolution, well just stand around calling each other libs. If reddit wins the revolution they will just stand around calling each other strawmen.

Yeah, cause reforming the police totally hasn't been tried before.

We're still in the same place we were over 50 years ago when Frank Serpico came out about all of the NYPD's corruption in the 1970s. Who would've guessed that reform really don't work and now the NYPD are more corrupt than they ever were.

Reminder to these dipshits that they're literally voting for the asshole who pushed the 1994 crime bill and made it next to impossible to prosecute cops on murder and brutality charges.

The other day I made fun of some so called libertarians calling Jo Jorgenson a liberal for saying defund the police and BLM. I mentioned how the demilitarization of the police is a very fundamental, basic goal for actual libertarians to end the police state, at least the "real" libertarians. That has always been a talking point. I do get they also want to privatize the police too, but the point is they understand the state has monopoly on violence. it's one of the few things libertarians got right, but what happens after that is where they go wrong, as per usual with their not fully thought out ideology. Been infinity funny how utterly incoherent people are that call themselves one, they are just like the GOP right now in almost every way. Besides or course abolishing age of consent laws and legal weed.

My mom doesn’t want to defund them, she just wants to “fund them differently”. I’m scared that if I asked her what she meant, the brainworms radiating from her takes would kill me.
