Yeah it's not for everybody. I've noticed that a lot of friends of mine who don't like weed tend to be kinda spaced out people to begin with. I'm a bit like that myself and I have to make sure to only use it in certain circumstances. Ketamine is cool though

you ever try like, just taking one tiny hit? I can get panic attacks with pot, but it's usually only if I get higher than comfortable or if I have to talk to people.

it sounds counterproductive but i have a lot of friends with similar experiences; try microdosing mushrooms.

i can't think of any drug that has kept pace with weed's meteoric rise in potency. sometimes a drug experience that tilts the other way is a good way to reset the clock a bit.

everyone else's advice on one hit is solid as well.

Weed has one of two effects on me:

    a) Nothing, except maybe my lungs feeling a little warm

    b) The person I'm talking to is disgusted by me, and anything I do to try to soothe my fears will only deepen their disgust so I have to sit here and not say anything until this shit wears off or I can find an excuse to go home.

I've been told by numerous people I have to just find the sweet spot, but I've tried enough times that it feels like it's either nonexistent or too hard to get just right to be worth it.

Go to a mostly CBD strain, then work up from there. I can't really take any THC though, family sensitivity.

This is also me. When I smoke or vape dry herb, even just baby hits gives me anxiety. Sometimes it's really minor and I don't dwell in it and it goes away pretty fast and I vibe for the rest of the high. Other random times I'm just thinking about the worse shit, like constantly recycling random scenarios in my head. I think about climate change a lot and also like how this country legit is on the edge of some serious bullshit.

What's really weird though, is when I use concentrated oils, or regular dabs, I don't really get the same issues. It makes me think that there is certain cannabinoids in herb that might cause it, and concentrates end up filtering out in the process of extraction. I can hit the vape pen all day, which gets me considerably higher but for whatever reason, less unpleasant side effects.

Really tiny super itty bitty hits, like so fucking small, is how I got about it.

Even then I have to be in the mood lol

me too. I actually went to the hospital once because I thought it was a stroke. if they knew I had simply gotten too high, they were kind enough not to mention it.

So basically weed can sometimes bring on intense anxiety in the initial part of the high. I don't know if the specific mechanism for this has been determined, but I can tell you that the anxiety part never seems to last the whole time, so I've found that the best thing to do is remind yourself that it's a side effect of the pot and try to distract yourself. Fortunately, weed tends to make it easy to get distracted, so it's very helpful in that regard.

I've also heard that different strains do this to greater or lesser degrees, so changing up your sourcing may help, if that's an option.

Talking yourself down is a solid strategy. Just remember all the previous panic attacks and anxiety and remember nothing bad actually ended up happening. It's all in the head, for me I gotta fight those intrusive thoughts, not letting the mind keep digging a hole. Put on some good music for a bit and just remember it's a side effect that won't hurt you if you know that everything is gonna be fine.

Did weed become this complicated recently? When I was in college people were talking about the difference between two different strains of plant, but now people are like "CBD, Dabs, keef" and I have no idea what's going on
