1. Who on Earth is gonna change their mind about voting for Biden on the day of the election because they saw a Shaun tweet?????

  2. The U.S. isn't some small insignificant country -- they affect the whole world (indirectly and directly), everyone has a right to speak on U.S. politics, especially if they're educated on the topic.

Also, for the unfamiliar, both of these people are considered "breadtube" YouTubers.

The fact that she thinks foreign countries have no stakes in this election makes me wonder what she's been doing her whole life. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BEFORE LINDSAY???

"disillusioning a populace that is already cynical about voting"

RICHEST COUNTRY THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN AND HALF THE COUNTRY IS POOR OR IN POVERTY AND THAT WAS BEFORE COVID

    fucking libs.

I honestly thought she was joking and even laughed when I first saw the tweet cause it was such a ridiculous "Charlotte Clymer" thing to say, I thought she was making fun of people like that. But she's genuinely arguing with people in her replies over it.

Her argument isnt that he is wrong, but that people should vote anyway. A real tinkerbell moment of if we all just believe/vote hard enough. And I like her videos.

Libs have been blaming Susan Sarandon for 2016, so maybe they just have no idea what influences people's votes.

I watched Rocky Horror this weekend. Susan Sarandon is in it. I wrote in a presidential candidate.

They might be on to something!

Saw that movie for the first time last week. Really wild that two of the main characters are played by people who I grew up knowing as cartoon dads.

Is there anyone who follows her for her politics? I've never thought of them as being particularly strong. I like her culture/media analysis, but her politics don't really make an appearance beyond radlib.

No, not really. I didn't post this because I was shocked she was a lib (well, maybe shocked that she'd be such a massive lib). It's just a really dumb comment -- that happened to be from her -- the post would still stand even if she wasn't the one who wrote those tweets.

She makes videos about Star Wars and Disney... and those a great videos, but also tell tale signs of a lib. And so am I. And so are all of you, except you.

So we should self-censor on the off chance some libs may get "cynical" about voting??? Who the fuck is this nitwit and how does she have any traction on the "left"

She's a a fairly entertaining youtuber with p good vaguely leftist video essays on movies. She's breadtube adjacent, as in she collabs with a lot of people considered to be breadtube, but her most successful videos are just video essays roasting bad movies. I don't know why people expect super good political content from her, she's just Redlettermedia if Redlettermedia had a bunch of lib friends.

I've noticed most of the radicalism of these "Vague Leftists" doesn't extend outside of pop culture analysis, I wonder how lib they'd get without that safe cultural crutch

If libs are so cynical about voting, maybe they should have come up with a more compelling vision than "beat the Cheeto"

I think deep down Dems know that Biden is the only person shitty enough to lose to Trump, so they are policing anything that could come off as negative. Seriously any critique gets met with a shush because in their mind it's Biden's game to lose any nobody needs to help him lose.

Ballot propositions in my state usually have a much more direct impact in life compared to the president. District Attorney and Judges can make a large deal too, especially for PoC communities who are usually targeted the worst by the "justice" system. I'm no electoralist, but voting for other shit has real stakes depending on where you live.

Well you see, if you don't vote exactly how you are instructed to, then the big bad men are going to come to take away your democracy, sweaty.

Be prepared to face much more targeted political violence by cops and militias and accelerated degradation of society and enviroment. And no, there will probably be no mass uprising/leftist revolution anytime soon, bc the fash are too well equiped and entrenched with state power. The future left just cannot make up for their strategic disadvantage quickly enough by letting things escalate even further its control.
