It's almost like y'all libs are starting from your own political position, which is based on indoctrination, assumption, and zero reading, then projecting that out onto the people who oppose your political worldview by accusing them of the very things you yourself are guilty of.

Libs always do this. They can't help but be grossly chauvinistic in their conceptualisation of the world because if it's true for them then obviously it must be true for everyone else.

That ain't how it works, buddy.

Libs coming in acting like they're i-think-that and entirely ready to get banned for speaking truth to power and then just don't makes me feel a kinda second hand embarrassment for them.
If they say a slur and get banned they can at least make a "tankies are suppressing my free speech (to call for the killing of homeless people)" post and get some sympathy responses but just getting dunked on and remaining unbanned after trying to act like we disallow any dissent is just embarrassing.

And you can't really make any actual points from all that reading in a couple paragraphs.

Hey, the State Department works really hard to distill disinformation into snappy talking points.

If you want a ban my advice is just to say a slur or something bigotted and you'll get banned in like 5 to 10 minutes, weakly prodding that people haven't read enough won't get you banned, we already do that to each other all the time

I'm ready for the ban, because I don't think the people running this want actual discussion.

I'll let you cook. Let's see where this goes. Got my eye out though.

It's weird how you guys throw "reading" in there, but you always cite hours of reading you know people aren't going to do. And you can't really make any actual points from all that reading in a couple paragraphs.

It's difficult to articulate how fucking annoying this type of condescension is. It becomes downright enraging when I remember how it comes pre-installed on you people. You've spent too much time on reddit-logo and the bird site. There's some hivemind/cult shit going on where everyone's thought, speech, and argumentative styles all converge on the same, smug point. Stop it.

Okay, I'll be earnest. Framing something subjective as a self-evident truth is exactly what I said - annoying. An opinion given in the form of "It's almost like $my_opinion" is an archetypal example of reddit/lib smugness that I strongly dislike. And its construction is repeated and duplicated across so much of social media (or at least those two sites) that it feels simultaneously robotic. It's autonomous snark, if you follow me. Speaking personally, it triggers such a strong and immediate reaction because I left reddit in part to get away from these endlessly repeated phrases and idioms and sentiments. Does that make sense?

Have you seen any of the posts here, where new people ask questions about concepts they don't understand? Make a thread, ask your questions in good faith, and read what people have been linking you.

Right now, what we're hearing is that you don't want to read and put in the effort to actually understand.

We really need a slur filter for Redditisms that auto-removes those phrases or does something funny with them.
