Ms Berejiklian said the line "we are young and free" should be changed to "we are one and free" in order to recognise Australia's 60,000 years of Indigenous history.

Racism and colonialism are solved!

Death, and I can’t stress this enough, to Australia :anglo-burn:

Singing the national anthem is the equivalent of having a southern cross tattoo. It's a great way to tell me you're a fucking knob.

Yeah, but Australian trade unions have a sordid history of racism that [put a lot of countries to shame] (https://www.solidarity.net.au/unions/racism-white-australia-and-the-union-movement/). Fucking capital turning workers against one another.

She should probably add a line like 'and fuck the koalas' in reference to her ongoing commitment to the environment

Press release on incredibly tokenistic indigenous "acknowledgement" while wearing a fucking football scarf and a poppy so the chuds don't get too pissed off, that's some grade-A classy pandering Gladys

IDK, might just be me, but it still sounds like erasure.

Definitely, considering many Indigenous Australians certainly don't think that they are "one" with the Settler Colonial Australian state. It's just more liberal assimilationist rhetoric.

How about we remove the first verse and force chuds to sing the second verse at gunpoint, Gladys?

then once all the chuds are dead, we get a new one

But it still doesn't change anything, as the next line is "only seventeen".

If it changes, it'll be to "I Am Australian", which would be an improvement but it's still a whitewash of colonial genocide.

The only good bit in the current one is the "For those who've come across the seas, We've boundless plains to share".
