After first watching Iron Man without any prior knowledge a little after it came out, it blew my mind (and is still one of my favorite movies. Gulag me if you must). Being a white teen American boy I ate that shit up as it came out. But as Endgame started approaching I was realizing I wanted to watch it more out of some sunk cost fallacy that I'd invested so much time and energy into the franchise I had to see it through, and not because I genuinely wanted to. Thats when I truly knew whatever enjoyment I got from the genre was gone and I still haven't seen endgame. And I still don't really care.

I always ended up watching them because someone else would pay, friends, family, etc. Theres still a few marvel movies I havent seen like Ironman 3 or Thor 2 or the Antmen and Ive never had the curiosity to boot up netflix and watch them even years later.

My Mom wanted to watch endgame but hadnt seen any of the movies. It took her 3 days with like 15 or 17 hours of watching movies to finally catch up. Kinda makes me want to stop watching these fucking movies.
