It truly has been nice not having to listen to libs praise vapid, cash grab, State Department propaganda as cinematic masterpiece. 😍🇺🇲🔥

After first watching Iron Man without any prior knowledge a little after it came out, it blew my mind (and is still one of my favorite movies. Gulag me if you must). Being a white teen American boy I ate that shit up as it came out. But as Endgame started approaching I was realizing I wanted to watch it more out of some sunk cost fallacy that I'd invested so much time and energy into the franchise I had to see it through, and not because I genuinely wanted to. Thats when I truly knew whatever enjoyment I got from the genre was gone and I still haven't seen endgame. And I still don't really care.

I always ended up watching them because someone else would pay, friends, family, etc. Theres still a few marvel movies I havent seen like Ironman 3 or Thor 2 or the Antmen and Ive never had the curiosity to boot up netflix and watch them even years later.

My Mom wanted to watch endgame but hadnt seen any of the movies. It took her 3 days with like 15 or 17 hours of watching movies to finally catch up. Kinda makes me want to stop watching these fucking movies.

    So this article is interesting:

    Your Computer Isn't Yours

Turns out not only does MacOS circumvent VPNs for certain apps (like Maps), compromising you, it also phones home anytime you open a program, allowing Apple to know what you run, when you run it, and to associate that data with your IP. They can also prevent you from running software, as the bug today demonstrated. They transmit this in cleartext, so anyone on the network your use can also see this information. Incidentally, MacOS also apparently saves all your iMessage data unencrypted on their servers by default. This all means that US intelligence agencies have full access to all this information thanks to PRISM and Apple collaborating with them, without ever needing a warrant.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you care about opsec, use a free software OS such as Linux. Anyone interested in making the switch feel free to message me if needing help with Linux-related stuff.

i don't get why they would send that shit unencrypted, jeez just add some TLS or something.

Gonna hop in this thread just to recommend Zorin and Deepin for anyone curious. You can test them out in virtual box if you're curious. Deepin is Chinese and has a special file manager that's pretty cool. Zorin has some great themes that try to mimic MacOS and Windows for anyone switching. So it's easy to learn Linux passively while still having all your old layouts.

What's wrong in the article, then ? if you don't have the time to "aware me why", perhaps at least just pointing out what you think is wrong ?

I know we’re not technically in quarantine, but all this time indoors disconnected from my friends and school is taking me back to those two and a half years where I dropped out and did absolutely nothing with my life but hide in my room all day. It really doesn’t feel great considering how well things were going for me just before COVID and that there’s no end in sight to the pandemic. Wish I could just hibernate til this is all over.

Got a group text from my two best friends last night, first time in a while because we were never culturally on board with always staying in contact.

Anyway, they both got fired from their jobs because of rampant COVID spread and after commiserating about the jobs market I got:

Friendo 1- "Dude im sick of these bs expectations for the mid to low class. it's just suffering in silence for most of us. I can't cope osme of these days."

F1- "After nearly a month of not smoking pot it hit me that things are bad"

Friendo 2- "I mean the spread of the virus is bad,, but politics are in the way of any possible help right now."

F1- "Yeah, I miss everone but w/ how things are going I have to try and hold 2 jobs or risk drowning in my debt."

My heart breaks for my friends and I will do everything I can to help them out. I don't want to contribute to their despondency and depression, but there is also that little accelerationist devil inside of me going

:sicko-yes: Yessss, ask me about our rapidly deteriorating conditions :sicko-yes:

Oh don't worry, I'm on the case. I have been planting these seeds for almost 5 years now, I'm trying to do it tactfully without throwing them off the end into a pit of despair (like I did to myself.)

You’re doing a hell of a lot better than I did. I’ve been able to somewhat radicalize my friend. (He’s gone from being a lolbertarian to most likely willing to support a Marxist candidate)

just got my biggest paycheck ever and it’s ridiculous how much i don’t even need all this money if i were to get a promotion (i’m covering for a coworker in sales who is on maternity leave, once she returns i go back to my non sales job).

i know i’m not greedy because the first thing i thought of when i saw the amount was like “damn this worth doing so i can pay for my comrades’ top surgeries”

One of Biden's best buddies in the Senate, good ol' Segregationist Strom Thurmond fondled so many women in elevators that he fondled a sitting US Senator when he was 91 and still had 7 more years left in office

What do you do when you're feeling lethargic and don't feel like doing anything?

Don't feel like playing any of my video games, don't feel like making music, have no drugs and gave em up anyway.

This isn't a constant thing, just once in a while.

It's happening to me very often now. I wanted to go to a local library for weeks now, to buy four books about the Spanish Civil War. I haven't done it yet, every morning I wake up and I just don't feel like doing it, I can't gather enough strenght to go out, take the bus and buy the damn books.

      Shit fucking sucks.

Coffee could help, taking care of yourself could help. If it's not happening that often, maybe just understand that you'll probably have bla days and give yourself permission to be bla occasionally and have it not bother you more than it has to. Try to figure out if there are any patterns like not getting enough sleep or not eating well that seem to trigger bla days. I've sometimes found myself feeling like that and realized I literally just haven't eaten that day and as soon as I get some decent food in me I feel a million times better. It seems obvious but sometimes you just miss things.

I fix it with drugs. Caffeine. Then I take that little bit of energy I’ve cheated out of my soul and go for a walk or a jog to clear my head. Or I just sit in the half lotus position and try to meditate.

Then eventually I find new things to do, like study Mandarin, or make more tea, or go buy a book.

Just starting again! I’m trying to use Fluenz and some textbooks and material from the MIT courses, hope I stick with it this time.

I’m terrible for starting languages for a few months and then losing interest, but now I really want the opportunity of spending time in China

Sweet. I'd recommend DuChinese as well. It's a bunch of easy readings where you can click on the words to see what they mean, really makes you feel accomplished when you can read a whole story.

It’s cooler now, so I’ve been going outside, but it’s depressing as fuck to think about what capitalism has done to the earth. It already feels like it’s gone. It’s over. It was beautiful and necessary for wellbeing. The earth is a comrade. :sadness:
