Notice how all the social faux pas' are women and all the "not working hard enoughs" are men.
And the "doesn't believe in company's mission or values" is the only black person.
Curious 🤔
‘Are we creating a place where women and people of color feel marginalized because they are subject to constant misogyny and racism?’
Nah, must be the levels of estrogen or melanin. Yeah, definitely not our fault.
Black people's skulls determine that they're unfit to withstand a constant undercurrent of abuses at their workplaces, making them risky candidates for employment. I majored in Phrenology so I should know.
please find me one person who actually cares about a company's "mission" or "values"
Our slogan is "drink better beer." Getting folks to do that is a mission statement that I am happy to oblige.
Yeah but, is the company you work for REALLY doing that? Are they compensating your well for it?
Honestly...by industry standards, very well. Hourly is $15, plus tips. I'd rather just make $30/hr and get rid of tips, but as far as options go in this particular sector, it's not bad at all.
Plus, we have free reign to 86 whomever we please (within reason, I suppose. I was specifically told I can’t just kick out anyone who disagrees with me politically, but aside from that...), and there's no weird corporate script - I regularly tell people who ask for light beer that we have a water tap, which I don't think would fly at Chili's - or uniform or anything like that. And we can drink on the job.
So...it's really a pretty good gig, all things considered.
A brewpub, I'm guessing? That sounds great.
Can't drink on the job and I don't get tips but I appreciate my gig as well. I get to geek out with customers and coworkers about beer and whisky even. Downside is that there are plenty of grumpy, miserable old boozers who buy cheap shit in bulk that I feel bad about feeding into their habit.
i know i'm the smartest person in the office, and its because im a terrible employee
Literally just a list of all of my strategies for staying sane.
Edit: also conversely, literally just a list describing how a boss is and what it does.
Translation:
2,6,9: Your workplace is a byzantine hellhole where it's impossible to do right.
4,5,8: You're surrounded by idiots.
1,3,7,10,12: Your work is an alienating chore and your boss is stealing your surplus labor value.
11: You have achieved class consciousness.
Why would I do anything more than the bare minimum when I am literally earning the minimum wage?
- You find yourself regularly apologizing to people
Wait, do the capitalists WANT me to be an asshole? How is apologizing a bad thing?
i think this is saying you shouldnt be in a position where you need to apologize
In corporate-speak "doing the bare minimum" usually means you're actually performing your job as per the job description, you're just not taking on additional responsibilities..
The one about the "company mission and values" is fucking with me. Corporate HR culture needs to be eradicated.
Ooooh this is fun! I'll take 3, 5, 6, 7, 12 with heavy emphasis on 3, 6 & 7
Is there one for "12 signs you're a terrible American? "
three seven and twelve are the same thing (with strong ties to one six and ten) and any employee that says they are not those things is delusional or lying (also eight)
nine is just canadian. canadians are bad employees, i guess
two is explaining why something is physically impossible/illegal
four and five is everyone, even the boss. especially the boss. (also eight)
eleven is the union rep
edit: (also eight)
is capitalism crushing the labour force under its heel in pursuit of ever growing profit margins?
no, its the employees who are wrong!
let me count the ways...
