It's about as sound of an argument as saying its natural for coal miners to cough and die from black lung or its natural for children to work in factories because of their size, or the naturality of women not needing an education just to be homemakers

Fittingly, Burke's arguments for deferring to the legitimacy of the status quo have been passed down and reused generation after generation with only the most minimal change. I wish that I could dig up his skeleton and set it on fire.

The liberal also thinks capitalism keeps people fed when it causes famines and fixes bread prices, keeps them housed when it creates homelessness to drive up real estate value, and keeps them alive when it denies the poor healthcare and cannot sustain itself without unending genocidal wars. This person clearly lives in, as their "Release the Snyder Cut" brain would put it, "Bizarro World".

Comparing doctors to economists like they're remotely comparable is fucking funny.

Capitalist economists are more equivalent to astrologists than a professional science.

Mainstream economy is pseudoscience since they took their first step back in order to not admit Ricardo was on a right course. And it could be even worse, Austrian school for example is literal cult.

Economists are the new feudal clergy, they only exist to justify the current ruling class.

The wealthy are wealthy because God / The Market is rewarding their value.

The poor are poor because God / The Market is punishing their laziness.

Economists treat the modern economy the same way Abrahamics treat God - as an unpredictable, fickle monster that you can't ask anything of.

You can't blame God / The Market when it punishes you, you can't directly control it or tame it, but you can offer it incentives at most and be grateful for scraps.

God / The Market doesn't exist to serve Man. Man exists to serve God / The Market.

    • capitalism isn't a hospital
    • capitalism isn't life support
    • the global working class isn't supported by capitalism
    • socialists aren't random people walking into a hospital fiddling with life support
    • capitalism isn't keeping people clothed and fed
    • people are clothing and feeding themselves by selling their labor power to a capitalist for less than it is worth in order to scrape together enough currency to purchase necessities of life
    • socialists do in fact understand economics
    • marx studied the physiocrats, adam smith, david ricardo, mill, malthus, economic statistics, health statistics, legal documents like the factory acts, etc. for 20 years before finishing Capital
    • imperialism, the highest stage of capitalism is full of economic data
    • any socialist who writes on unequal exchange or imperialism tends to cite international trade data
    • some of the bourgeoisie's economic hitmen have come forward and admitted what they do for the ruling class in their memoirs
    • the CIA and other intelligence agencies in capitalist nations have come forward and declassified their many efforts to sabotage the development of socialist countries through means including but not limited to: assassination, genocide, drug-running, spying, sanctions, coups, embargoes, loans, proxy wars, invasion, colonization, industrial sabotage, agricultural sabotage, poisoning the population, and arming fifth-columnists
    • capitalism already causes millions of deaths, mainly through social murder 🦶🗒️
    • socialism doesn't cause deaths, capitalism's sabotage of attempts to do socialism causes millions of deaths
    • capitalism regularly throws people out of work, privatizes people's means of subsistence, forces people to go into debt and take on internships before they can even find gainful employment, appropriates people's surplus value, etc.

it's such a fucking asinine analogy. i'm sure tons of fart sniffing bourgeois looking for reassurance that the exploitation they do is morally good are thrilled to read it.

The person's screaming in pain, the life support is flashing red, the patient is dying due to incredibly foreseeable causes that they would happily prevent, were it not for their doctors having a vested interested in making it happen. They may be alive, but the patient is dying and loudly protesting, and the doctors clearly don't give a shit - Damn right I'm gonna start working out what those levers do and try to change 'em.

Nobody who talks about economics like that person has even passed econ 101/102. I know this because I can explain why they're wrong using only what I learned in econ 101/102. Though to be fair, nobody who actually understood econ 101/102 would support capitalism at all.

As pointed out in that thread, "life support" has a double meaning

Life support e.g aboard a ship it is the combination of all systems responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the crew.

Life support e.g someone in bad/critical condition being kept alive through medical equipment.

OP does not realize the second meaning is just a huge self-own as it is an admission modern capitalism is only barely keeping everyone alive instead of creating wealth and prosperity for all.

It is even worse when you realize wait a minute that is actually a very good analogy, capitalism is definitely the only reason why we have billions of people that can barely afford to live and many more ultimately fail and the "life support" system just stops working for them i.e you end up homeless, get murdered, die of hunger etc...

Capitalists: would you enter the infant ward of a hospital and start stealing food from the babies? Unplugging IV drips and hiding formula until they paid you money? Turning off incubators and demanding rent from a 2 week old?

Of course you would you fucking pigs, because you're greedy and don't care about human life.
