Yeah but if they do this in Michigan, nothing to say they can't get it done in Georgia and Wisconsin and Arizona, all of which are Republican controlled legislatures as well.
The rules are it's all a bunch of people sniffing each others farts and getting high off following procedures and if someone (Trump) was to say "no u" then there's nothing they can do because they hadn't thought of someone not following all the rules and procedures and getting that far.
