Wasn't planning on going but thought about going by and getting a plate, saying hi, then leaving.
My parents called me yesterday and said they went to a wedding this past weekend and a person they were around the whole time, maskless, tested positive for covid. They said they feel fine though so they're going through with thanksgiving as planned. Worst of all, they're inviting over a dozen people, mainly my step dad's "biker buddies", who are just a bunch of backwoods country chuds that cosplay as bikers on the weekend.
I wasn't planning on going but goddamn dude what the fuck. Why are people like this. They both smoke, they don't exercise, fuck. At least they had the courtesy to let me know before they cause a super spreader event. Just gonna be spending this holiday playing Xenoblade Chronicles and eating enchiladas. Y'all stay safe.
Not going home for thanksgiving because I don't want to risk getting any family sick or getting sick myself. Thankfully I have a sensible family who are doing the same.
Just going to my folks. It'll be just 5 humans total and coming from only 3 different homes. Really just a small family dinner (like it usually is tbh).
95% of my family members are awful (generational trauma is fun!) so no, I'm not going, and I'm fucking stoked about it
I'm not "going to Thanksgiving" as in traveling to see my parents and extended family, ect, but I'm getting together with like 3 people who I see all the time anyways.
Normally my thanksgivings are 20+ people so this is definitely a change.
Not going, thank gods, but need something to do so I don't feel real lonely.
I'm making the same amount of food (a fuckload) and dropping it off with friends in the area, then we're gonna play some games over zoom. But like, I'm queer I haven't had thanksgiving with my relatives in well over half a decade so this is pretty normal for me except we're doing it virtual.
I'm going to my parents place but it's just me and my sister. We've all been social distancing and can travel by car in less than an hour. Still feel a tiny bit weird about it but I don't think it's a big deal.
