This is why the American "left" is trash, if your leftism isn't anti-imperialist, you're part of the problem. M4A and free college for me, while death and destruction for thee...

yes, but these social policies that improve the lives of the proleteriat help the struggle, even if you don't think it should be the main path. we won't be able to magically destroy global capitalism overnight and these concessions should be valued. of course, this doesn't mean to stop at these concessions. I think these policies will actually build significant popular support and momentum for the movement to achieve more ambitious goals like real socialism and dismantling imperialism.

I guess so. But I also don't see how the left can build a revolutionary movement in the US . It just seems easier to appeal to people with beneficial policies than to literally tell them to abandon their way of life completely and rise up against the most powerful regime on earth, Even though I believe the latter is much more preferable.

I see your point. At the end of the day, Im for anything that works. I really felt that Bernie's campaign was the closest the left got to a coherent popular movement. Sorry for being a lib here and please do educate me on the alternatives.

And this is why social fascist is a term.

Fuck everyone who claims to be "left" but supports the actions of the imperial core, or claims that those actively resisting American hegemony are "worse than America"

Using a common propaganda metric as a baseline to point out how fucked the us covid response has been isn't imperialist, especially when your audience is mostly libs and chuds.

It's not an implicit endorsement of the dead troops or those wars either. It's a way to put large numbers into scale for an audience who has been conditioned to be flag-wavers.

I mean, I understand why Bernie is only showing US casualties here... but yeah Americans really should understand that we killed MILLIONS in Korea and Vietnam.

But think of how sad committing genocide made the American soldiers!

That episode was jarring. I looked through the discussion on reddit afterwards and it's sickening how easy it is for people to justify the main character murdering an innocent nurse (who was taking care of American soldiers) in cold blood. "War is war, what if she was a communist?"

I guess the writers really do know their audience.

      about a million each war.

      plus insane infrastructure damage.
