Once on the old sub, someone from r/traditional_catholics (or something like that) came to brigade on r/cth, then posted screenshots of the interaction on his own sub. I found the post and commented "HRRRRRNNNG Jesus, I'm tryna pray, but I'm Dummy Thicc, and the clap from my ass cheeks keeps distracting the priests!" I got banned and the moderator reprimanded the chud brigader saying "don't bring these people here." Good times.
Wish I could credit who said it but someone on Twitter pointed out the irony that so many of the dbag teens who grew up on 4chan looking at pol, porn, weed, and screaming about atheism then went into hard tradcath path if only because it gets them a subservient wife.
Closest thing you can get to clubbing a woman over the head and dragging her back to your cave without being arrested.
(I know, bold of me to assume rape would actually be prosecuted)
Your be fucking surprised. Catholic girls all really want to get married ASAP. You see a lot of really nice sweet Catholic girls eith some straight awful shit tier men
There's orthodox chuds in the US???
(I am not trying to say that there aren't orthodox chuds, it just surprises me that there are orthodox chuds in the US)
Yeah we do. Religious extremism is getting a bass boost the last couple of years.
Didn't one of the reading series's "demons are bimbofying the youth" people first convert from Protestantism to Catholicism and then to Orthodoxy?
I find this extremely funny as someone who grew up in a majority orthodox country with like 0 catholics/protestants. What are these people like? Why do they convert?
I'm in Russia, so I'm in the same boat as you, but I assume they think Orthodoxy is even more based and trad than Catholicism. Like lately the Pope has been talking about acceptability of civil unions for gays. You wouldn't catch an Orthodox Patriarch saying anything progressive.
Yeah they typically just hate people in general lol. They tried to get us all killed here too because they refused to even slightly change their customs for Covid, apparently it was super important to them that everyone eats from the same fucking spoon. For now they're only getting themselves killed (although unfortunately the one who died so far was the very rare case of someone who, while not progressive, at least was a decent person).
Sooo anyway, how's Russia? I'm actually sorta interested in going there for grad school or whatever if I can't get into a good enough program somewhere else. Less likely to bankrupt me too.
I mean, Russia isn't doing well. They've dropped the ball on covid, economic support during the pandemic is almost nonexistent, the economy is failing and the cost of ruble is unprecedentedly low.
I've asked my SO who's is a grad student here in Moscow and she's convinced that getting into a grad school here is a very bad idea. The education system has been falling apart for some time now. Post-doc on the other hand might be a smart idea.
Also, I forgot to add, 90% of people say they are orthodox Christians here, but only about 80% of people in total say they believe in God. Go figure.
I’ve always associated it with Eastern Europe for some reason
Because all that stuff is orthodox symbolism and Eastern European countries are majority orthodox. I don't think the shirts have a name. I live in a country that is like 90% orthodox and I've never ever seen anyone wear this shit, idk if some people in Eastern Europe wear them but I have a feeling it might be something weird American converts came up with.
Yeah well not sure they know it is an orthodox thing lol. Like, the Catholic Church tends to prefer Latin, it is the Eastern orthodox Church that prefers medieval Greek.
Jesus: Be kind, be forgiving, give to the poor, give food and medicine to those who need it, be willing to die for others because you love them so much no matter what. Get executed in one of those worst ways possible.
These pricks: Pronouns?! Tolerance?! This is too much man!
Are these the ones who say "the Jews killed Jesus" even though it was the Romans and they call themselves Roman Catholic?
"Traditional Catholics" are a heretical sect of Catholics who don't consider the last... half-dozen or so I think? popes to have been legitimate. Mostly because of a perceived Liberalization in the church in the last few decades.
So the Catholic version of protestant psychosis that happened all through the 80s till today
Imagine believing in Catholicism but also hating the Catholic church. Like what's the point homie just go be an evangelical.
