Most people don't give a shit about the "meaning" of Thanksgiving. They just like getting together with family to eat a big meal. It's basically the same thing with Christmas. Pretty sure most non-christians in the US celebrate Christmas unless they're celebrating Hanukkah and thus already have a pretext to give gifts and be together with family.
Feasting with family is good actually - sure beats sitting at home as atomized individuals, shitposting on the internet andeating hot pockets
We do it but my parents know fuck all or care about this country. I cook the bird and indulge them because it's one of the only days off they have off from work. They also like bragging when they show off pics to the rest of my extended family that I hate so that's a plus.
