The only difficult part of explaining Juno will be explaining why such a cool person like Elliot decided to star in low-key anti-choice propaganda.

love when parents make reactionary demands on society to avoid having a short conversation with their child about an uncomfortable topic

Also it always turns out kids are wayyyyyyyyyy more receptive of this than adults. It's always fucking weird that these people are like, "well I'm fine with it but I'm not sure how my extremely reactionary 5 year old will handle it". Like just admit you're the bigot, don't put that on your kid you fucking weirdo.

It's literally a coming of age story targeting millenials, and not nearly as influential as breakfast club was so I doubt it will cross generation lines. Actually just a fabricated problem, lmao.

I picture the mom coming home from working late, finding her teenage son in the living room with the dvd copy of Juno she had hidden in an air vent. Tears streaming down his face as he holds it up and demands to know what it is and what it means. Then the mom digs an old stale loose cigarette from the bottom of her purse and lights it up, sitting down quietly and shaking. She puts her head in her hands. They sit in silence for half an hour while the son quietly sobs.

Supposedly that's the actual policy of Iran, to the point of forced transitions.

But that's from western reporting on Iran, so I'm not sure I should believe it.

Sit the boy down and explain that the 2000s were an absolutely worthless waste of a decade and the end was infested with twee bullshit as a reaction to coarser edgier trends, signifying a transition from the prior decade. It’s that easy to explain Juno.

      waste of a decade

I generally agree, with one exception: the 2000s were an absolute golden age for dumb, high budget sci-fi action movies starring women who sort of look like Amy Lee.

Seems like a great extension for both if you want to avoid transphobia, or if you're like me and have this weird desire to constantly consume content that makes you mad.

I wish I knew how to program so that I could set up a version with stricter moderation. Like, jesus christ, I've seen so many transphobes get labeled as safe because they tweeted "trans rights" once. Like, jesus christ folx, have some fucking standards as to who you call an ally.

lol if your son is old enough to watch Juno he's old enough to understand Transpeople, these people have no imagination even when it comes to the brain development of their own fucking kids.

Her mother called her Melanija Knavs I would call her Melanija Knavs. If she wants to perceive something else, it's completely her problem.

Why would you call her Melania Trump? Her name is Melanija Knavs!

It's true, I told my doctor I didn't like my arms and I was immediately diagnosed with arm-disliking disorder and institutionalized. I haven't seen my family in months.
