He had a concealed permit.
The bullshit is the idea that he was driving around town waving his gun at cops.
They shot him in the back then best case (for them) is they found his gun on him after.
Fucking pigs.
Chuds furiously searching police records from the 70s to find evidence of a parking infraction so they can rest assured he was guilty of something justifying his killing
Good thing a firearm was retrieved, eh?
I'm just adding some facts here, not taking what you said wrong... He was licensed concealed carry and Ohio is an open carry state. Also, news reports say he was advocate for gun owner rights.
Oh trust me they'll do some gold medal mental gymnastics to conflate the fact that the sandwich he was carrying could have very reasonably been mistaken for carrying a gun based on the previous knowledge the officers had of of his existing CCW permit.
Ah yes. One of those "I feared for my life" situations when you shoot someone in the back.
Step in the right direction, but unless they have hiring/firing power over the cops and represent the actual working-class community they'll be toothless.
They just get occupied by former cops/business owners interested in keeping cops coppy
Portland did too (with firing powers), but the courts are probably gonna pull their usual bullshit.
80% of the city approved? well fuck you we're gonna defer to the contract.
Then the pigs will find a way to keep the oversight board from actually happening in the next contract. Either refuse to negotiate or get some shithead ex-judge arbiter to side with them.
Unrelated city, but one of the people on my local oversight board showed up to a BLM protest. She told us the whole thing is bullshit, they don't know officer names, victim names, or what happens to the officers and victims.
If you're in the Columbus area, they're holding a Rally for Justice at 12:00PM on the 12th, think its at the statehouse but I'm not positive. I'll be there though.
