Who else can't wait to participate in the vaccine lottery?

Pfizer has said people with a history of severe adverse allergic reactions to vaccines or the candidate’s ingredients were excluded from their late stage trials, which is reflected in the MHRA’s emergency approval protocol.

Lmao. You have to be fucking kidding. Why would you exclude those groups then give it to everyone? Just exclude those groups from the rollout too until you know more.

Profits, this is why press releases aren't science and shouldn't be the basis of policy, but here we are.

Yeah, but they'll still make assloads of money vaxing people without allergies. It's largely on the UK gov for fucking up that rollout.

We still don't know how long the immunity will last, what other people might be adversely affected, and its pretty clear that this was rush through to make pfizer Q4 earnings

            I agree, but

Pfizer has said people with a history of severe adverse allergic reactions to vaccines or the candidate’s ingredients were excluded from their late stage trials, which is reflected in the MHRA’s emergency approval protocol.

They were given emergency exception to avoid testing on this group of people. The UK gov knew and could have avoided that group during the rollout (like they now are) and avoided all this till that group could be tested.

I know Pfizer's motivations is to make as many vaxs as possible for as much money as possible, but this was avoidable if the UK gov wasn't run by a bunch of drunk public school lads that couldn't probably spell vaccine or Pfizer.

The UK govt made the emergency approval protocol to rush this. The speed in which the vaccine is delivered probably matters more to the govt than the vaccine company

because this way they can prioritize poor people from those groups into the first mass doses and see if it's really a problem without having to wait for actual approval.

This makes no sense. Health personnel is being prioritised, not "poor people".

Obviously I meant the first group that's being prioritized out of the general pop.

...which is super old people. Like, do you seriously think they'll just say "we're starting to vaccinate people, but you can only get the vaccine if you make less than 1000k per month!"? That's such a weird way to view how capitalism works lol. If anyone is excluded in any country it's gonna be the opposite, you'll have to pay for the vaccine.

Using oppressed to test out sketchy medical treatments is a time honored American tradition.

Because this isn't the Tuskeegee experiment, they're not trying to give people syphilis, and he linked to a literal antivax conspiracy website?

I googled the people instead of the site and they're all anti-vax nutters, so fair enough on downvotes.

Which part of "it's literally already being announced who is getting the vaccine first and it's literally already been tested on tens of thousands of people" do you find hard to figure out? The issue is EXACTLY the opposite, poor people potentially not having access.

There are a bunch of problems, and I don't really want to get into an argument because I feel like we're on totally different tracks here.

Take a look at the article (which I hope is BS but it's unsettling).

“Any person with a history of a significant allergic reaction to a vaccine, medicine or food (such as previous history of anaphylactoid reaction or those who have been advised to carry an adrenaline autoinjector) should not receive the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine,” it said.

I don't think they know why it's happening.

Hmm, the only one of my many allergies that has ever made me wonder if I need an epipen is mold, but I've never had a reaction to other vaccines, so?

Well when your turn comes (which is probably not gonna be very soon) they'll probably know which ingredients are causing the allergy in particular.

Are you gonna stop freaking out about everything? This is a fuckup by the UK government, they knew there may be issues with people with allergies but for some reason it took them a while to exclude people with allergies. But that shit isn't that uncommon for many vaccines. https://www.healthline.com/health/vaccinations/immunization-complications#hepatitis-a

Like, come on. Shit's safe. It's all been tried extensively. The one I don't know about is AstraZeneca but that's being tried again now. But I don't understand why people are trying to blow up every little issue and act like the end is coming.

For real, the chinese vaccine was made because they actually want to immunize people. The western vaccines were made by for profit companies to make them profit, which requires being the first ones done. I'd much rather get the Chinese vacc too
