I feel like I can't relate to a lot of leftists online a lot of times so I made this post to just kinda shoot the shit. Anyone have some stories of rural life/annoyances with the online and generally urban left/anything really?

The online left seems pretty hospitable to the rural condition. Unless you're broadly using left and you mean libs. Libs think we're all stupid and evil. They think we all vote Republican just to torture them. They think we're all lazy because muh blue state welfare. They think we make excuses for not being wealthier because we're all white and therefore should cash in on our privilege or stop working problematic blue-collar jobs that hurt the environment. They have no idea why people out here dislike and distrust Democrats. They think everyone here is irredeemably racist. But the left-left seems to generally get all this and isn't too bad. I'm sure there some lib-brained holdout thoughts about us but it doesn't seem common.

Hospitable yes, but there's a lot they talk about and I just can't relate. I hate to be all hurr durr city folk just don't get it but it's really hard to just explain without having the living the experience of it, but you're right at least they're well meaning and caring rather than the hatred that libs feel for rural areas

Oh yeah I feel that, the nearest major urban area to me is about a 60 hour walk lmao. The worst part is that covid moved college online and so I'm still with my parents and they are very straight laced so no drinking no drugs :(

you’re tied to your car, without it you’re literally stranded

Something to consider when you hear people talking about low cost of living areas. You really have to dig into the numbers beyond stuff like rent and food prices.

Oh yeah it's painful here in Washington, there's kind of a micro version of that. The Liberals in Western Washington completely write off Eastern Washington as racist hicks even though half the people here are latino and a huge chunk are migrant farm workers. It's convenient for them.

I'm just saying if rural folk weren't red scared to hell and back we could be commie as fuck. Everyone in my podunk ass town basically owns the means of production because every fucking business here is self owned self operated. If we collectivized :stalin-shining: we wouldn't even really need to change hands or anything. Just let farmer joe keep farming, the mechanics keep mechromancing, and the civil servants servering.

I hate it when moose take a massive piss in my garden and drown my plant roots in a literal bucket of toxic piss, then proceed to eat the bark off my crab apple tree and the branches from my Chinese rose bush, then sit in front of my garage and block me in from going to work.

    How's that for rural?

libs try to base their identity on being some “homesteader” or going “back to the land” or some shit like that

Oh you know what makes my blood boil? when city chuds move here expecting everyone to be a racist POS like they are and basically being a prick. It's always them who get stuck in the sand dunes near me and slide off the road in the snow because they have a jacked up truck (body lift only no suspension lift ofc) that they don't know how to drive and have the led on led on led headlights that blind you

I love trillbillies! It's so nice to actually like relate to what they're talking about vs a lot of other left wing podcasts that are in either brooklyn or san francisco or places like that
