Yes, I know it'll be expensive, but it's cool if true

These are good for civilized countries that already have a healthy train system.

It most likely will since Tesla wanted to introduce a new battery this year which was very hyped and they had a special event organized in June that got delayed to September called Battery Day and when it was finally held they said nothing about batteries.

Meanwhile, their stock is up 300% since June lol

Tesla is an MLM scam, not a car company. I don't think this will impact them much.

Now you can isolate yourself in a form of travel that is extremely wasteful of energy and resources, with a little less climate guilt!

Hello I’m putting on both my climatologist and geologist hats for this one

All cars are bad. To get a battery that works this well you need lithium which is absolutely devastating to the environment. Don’t get me wrong, it’s better than using fossil fuels, but the real answer to these environmental problems is to rethink using cars at all. Looking to address climate change through cars is money laundering for oil and car companies. You know what has even less emissions per person than a fully electric car? A train. A tram. Biking. Walking. And at the end of funding these projects you know what you have in 20 years (long after the car battery needs to be replaced by mining more lithium)?????? You have an asset still used by the community.

Basically, we need an urban planning and mass transit revolution. Continuing to build our communities with a car-first mindset is destroying the planet (AND THE FUCKING COMMUNITIES BTW!!!!!! PARKING LOTS ARE WASTED SPACE)

Trying to fix our climate problems by focusing our energy in more production and individual consumption is just trying to fix capitalism by reforming capitalism.

0 - 100 % charge in ten minutes. If they can actually do this that would be pretty impressive, right?

It's okay because Elon's incredible automated factories are gonna make Toyota look like a bunch of slow grandmas building cars.

Of course. Because no other company that manufactures millions of identical metal products has used automation ever.

Everyone's right, we can't exist in a world where everyone has a personal vehicle driving around with 1.2 people in a car just because it's gas-free. BUT, if this is real it's good for busses and shit.

The 0 to 100 in 10 minutes is actually insane and I have no clue how they could possibly be doing that. Generally speaking, batteries can charge to like 50 percent in say 10 minutes, but then take an additional 2 hours to go to full, it's like trying to cram a sleeping back back into the package.

My guess is that Toyota is limiting their definition of empty to full to 20 to 80% of typical. This makes a lot of sense to do such if the cost and power density of the batteries are there.
