It's a stupid hill to die on but I'm such an obnoxious Rowling hipster, never miss an opportunity to tell people I knew she had terrible politics before it was cool.
Reminds of some Anti-PRC lunatic that works for Axios (straight up christian nutjob too, IIRC) claiming that hollyweird's problems with minorities being adequately represented is because of Chinese influence.
Or Plumpeo, amongst others, boldly stating that the real reason burgertown was experiencing civil unrest over racial tensions was because of Chinese and Russian (dis)information campaigns aimed at stoking the flames through social media.
The U.S. always blames its domestic problems on foreign interference, remember the whole Soviet Union-Civil Rights' Movement narrative?: https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/07/06/when-it-comes-to-americas-race-issues-russia-is-a-bogeyman/
Even if there is foreign interference, the problems are pre-existing; it's like blaming someone for throwing a stick into a fire you started, and hoping that will somehow stop the fire.
Harry Potter and China at the same time.

I can't wait for Fantastic Beasts 3. It's gonna be such a disaster. Rise of Skywalker levels of bad. Will Warner tell JK Rowling to wrap things up so they can move on to a new Harry Potter spin off, or will they want it to be a relaunch? Who can say, but it's gonna be fuckin awful.
It's almost exactly a George Lucas scenario where she started writing Fantastic Beasts and was never told "no" so instead of a coherent plot and extended storyline we get uh, one movie about this rando going to New York to find a monster, and one movie about Wizard Hitler wanting to kill all non-wizards so the Holocaust and the atom bombs/cold war never happen while also having this weird like, three way whodunnit about a baby? Fantastic Beasts 2 was a fucken trip.
Lucas didn't have anyone telling him 'no' when it came to the prequels. He successfully got rid of every single person that ever challenged him and stood up to him back in the days of the original trilogy. Spielberg was brought in to help with ROTS only after it became clear that the first two prequel movies were disasters.
Fantastic Beasts 2 was already a shitshow so I doubt it can get much worse.
There's still like a hundred character backstories for her to slaughter in front of the fans. She's very much like Lucas in that she doesn't seem to understand what made her franchise so popular in the first place.
As a former diehard fan / lib, I really hope this franchise just withers away in our lifetime.
All I have heard about is how poor Johnny Depp won't be in it. Nevermind that they still paid him his millions.
