Wonks, plz help me out. Is this abnormal, or is it just that the dems are feckless losers (and don’t want to block all the ghoulish shit the republicans did when they held the majority)?

After months of fighting over the checks we end up with $600 that could have started going out next week. Last minute Trump throws a hissy and we get the possibility of $2000 checks but with both parties kinda looking at each other dumbly because neither really wanted that. They tried to cast blame and opportunity for either side to shoot it down. Pelosi called a unanimous consent vote which means even one nay could end it. That way she could bait Republicans to saying no and then get two wins. Not getting the checks she doesn't want, and then blaming Republicans for not getting the checks. Republicans obviously don't care how ghoulish they appear. They know the little piggies will love it anyway. So they can claim Dems were just holding up the $600 by throwing out unrealistic last minute additions. Neither party wanted to stay over Christmas and Bernie was threatening to hold the Senate over the holiday. Now there's no point because the House has to come back Monday with a new rewrite that includes a clean $2000. The can is kicked a little further down the road. The checks aren't going to be out for at least another two weeks. Congress gets to go home.

    What a fucking shit show.

No he didn't. He's been fighting and arguing for 1200 for weeks, but there's only so much one senator can do.

Yeah fr. He lost, and all of us who put any work into getting him into the presidency lost that chance with him. Maybe he's doing the best he can, maybe he isn't, but we're the ones who have to move on.

I feel like there are a lot of folks who don’t know the difference between giving up and losing. Bernie didn’t give up on stimulus checks, he lost. The $600 check bill passed like 91-6. The most Bernie could have done against it would be minor delay tactics.

He lost and backed off his threats to hold senate hostage.

All the guy does is lose lately.

Yes, and that says a lot more about the united lib-chud front fighting the left than it does about Bernie?

He said he'd shut down the the most recent bill if they didn't give $1200 in it. They gave out $600 and he didn't filibuster it. Whether you agree with him or not, he didn't do the thing he said he'd do which was in his power.
