Exactly what needs to be done.

Queen shit. That's the kind of creativity we need to expose the hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle.

I'm just worried if there isn't $300mil for isreal and shit like that tacked on there will be no incentive for the ghouls to vote for it. I'm convinced the only reason there was even $600 coming was because they could stuff the bill with heinous shit and nobody would think twice.

maybe, but separating it out really does negate the ability for people to oppose it because of the earmarks

so they at least have to go full mask off to vote nay, especially democrats

Just add some language about not-Palenstein getting a 300 million tax break, that should cover it.

Is all the bullshit still in the bill? How much are we paying israel to take our F-35 fighter jets with this?

It's always going to be in the bill, it's a massive spending bill.

If they don't come up with a deal the government could end up shut down during a pandemic.

AOC still gonna fall in line for Pelosi as speaker though.

I think doing that is a good way for no check to be sent out, they'd just pass the separate spending/covid relief bill and shit-ball the personal relief bill

If you can't trick Republicans into doing the right thing, you can at least attempt to actually do something politically strategic and undermine their popular support.

(For the record, you can't trick Democrats into doing the right thing either, it's just every now and then they can be shamed into doing something that's a shallow fascimile of the right thing to get succdems off their backs.)

Bad politics aside, "$600 is the best we can do, let's not overplay our hand" epitomizes the utter uselessness and lack of both political imagination and political savvy of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats.

but the stimulus being attached to the government budget means you can just brick-wall them on it, refuse to open the government until they pass whatever you want. You're the minority party so the republicans will get blamed no matter what, Ilhan's idea is passing a soft-ball to the GOP

Sure, they could do that, just like they could have done that earlier this year to block Amy Barrett. It's a delusional lib fantasy to expect even token resistance from Nancy "every arrow in our quiver" Pelosi's minority party, especially now that she's running out the clock until the Biden presidency.

Splitting the bill may also be a fantasy, but at least it's not contigent on the Democrats giving up on their self-congratulatory image as the adults in the room.

But how will we get anything done if its not part of a sprawling 6000 page Everything Bagel of a bill.
