More than calling europe a region and india a subcontinent, im down to call india a continent and europe a subcontinent. It just makes sense. Why tf arent there continents who are separated by just mountains, and they should all be divided by sea?

Well, the subcontinent is as close to a perfect concept of a non-continental world region that we can get.
It's not even a subcontinent though. It's literally just Northwest Asia.
India is a subcontinent. Europe is just a region.
If the Urals didn't exist, Russia would not be classed as part of geographic "Europe". They only allowed them in because they needed a geographic excuse, and the Urals were that excuse.
