The only time i had a raisin cookie I was disappointed that it wasn't chocolate chip.

True. Even if you really like raisins, any other dried fruit would still be a better option.
Also, in old fashioned recipes they would call rasins plums so it is even more confusing.
They're objectively better than dried apricots. It's hard to beat dried mango though.
