I've seen two libs say that everyone in Kentucky is an inbred hick since McConnell shot down the $2K checks and another say that Kentuckians should never live down McConnell being in power so long.

None of them live here.

McConnell is massively unpopular.

The Democratic Party here tries to use that to shove garbage blue dogs down our throats.

The blue dogs eat shit because they're even more unpopular than McConnell.

Kentucky politics suck ass

I like how the discourse around Kentucky usually revolves around "our house/senate races matter! every vote counts!" and "we should do a tactical nuke strike on Kentucky, fuck that place."

I've seen libs tweeting that kentuckians don't deserve the $2k checks even if they passed. Very normal discourse

Libs: Voting matters! Vote Blue No Matter Who! If you don't, you don't care about kids in cages!

Also Libs: If your state voted for Mitch McConnel (over a literal Blue Trump Supporter) then you deserve to starve and go homeless with the rest of your state, even if you did vote full ticket Democrat.

Libs are literally incapable of understanding that there are systems of the power structure that are rigged and out of most people’s control.

Everything revolves around “vote” so if Kentucky has the bad politics it’s cuz their people didn’t vote hard enough or worse, voted hard for awful/the wrong things. And also they essentialize everything.

the only thing more tragic than the long career of mitch mcconnell is the incredible series of own-goals that the national DNC has executed here in the commonwealth, the most recent of which being the Mommy & Fighter Jet that funnelled $50 million to DC consultants to design front yard signs with jet silhouettes on them and edge out Charles Booker, a legit dude with a legit political project.

i remember looking it up, and it was something fucked up like the equivalent of 5 years of state funding for like the Kentucky River Authority or some shit. THANKS AMY. THANKS LIBS.

national libs blaming us for mcconnell is fucking rich. they're the reason he's fucking there. running against mitch is a cash cow.

Support for Booker during the primary near me was really encouraging. During the last week or so, I thought we might actually have had a candidate that could beat McConnell.

Charles Booker has ended up being a Sanders-like figure for a few well-meaning libs I know. They were disillusioned after he got ratfucked the same way that I was after Bernie's loss in 2016, and are quickly coming to the left.

If you are a neolib, McConnell is the most effective legislator in a lifetime. That's more than enough to win elections full of do nothings

The next leadership meeting of the Kentucky Democratic Party is going to be Allison Lundergan Grimes, Andy Beshear, and Greg Fischer on a Zoom call, and Fischer is going to go, "Look, just hear me out." and he'll adjust his camera so that a whiteboard with the word "Dixiecrats" written on it in huge letters is in frame.

Absolutely. 100%. Support for him at the end of the primary, during the protests because of the killing of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, was massive.

I used to vacation a bunch in KY. That Sunday morning Armageddon TV and those dry counties...

BTW Mitch brings back the bacon, KY gets like 2 tax dollars back for every dollar they pay in.

Cumberland County voted to go wet in 2016, which really shocked me.
