I'm Thinking of Ending Things, which I didn't even love. Looking through a list of releases made me realize, I watched so much garbage, Birds of Prey, Guns Akimbo, Christmas Chronicles 2, Princess Switch: Switched Again Part 2, and a host of other trash, and I fully remember every detail, I don't remember my parents ages but every character from the shlock is there forever
It was very good with some haunting and stunning parts no doubt but comparing it in my head to how last years favs, The Lighthouse and Jojo Rabbit, it didn't really make me feel the same joyousness
I really felt that The Lighthouse was unnecessarily drawn out at a few parts and really dragged, but I know a lot of people like it. Haven't watched Jojo Rabbit yet, though. Despite my buddy continuously recommending it to me.

Dietland (but it is lib)It has very deep lore, so watching the rest of the series first makes for a much more rewarding viewing experience.
'His House' was a decent horror, told from a refugee perspective. It was somewhat critical of the UK and its systemic xenophobia, and did a decent job contrasting the way grief is communally engaged with in both societies (somewhat apropos, given the widespread loss, and its glossing over, during the pandemic). Nothing groundbreaking, but the horror genre has always been generally reactionary (with exceptions), and this is was a nice change of pace.
Only 2020 movie I've seen is Colour out of Space, so I guess that wins by default.
I don't know if I actually enjoyed it as a film or just as a riffing vehicle though.
Promising Young Women, Soul for actual challenging themes and general unpredictability; Tenet and Extraction for dumb thrills.
Kajillionaire, without a doubt. An incredible movie about the struggle of poverty and conflicts between relationships. I didn't expect anything but it was an amusing experience for me.
I watched The Florida Project as part of a film class this year and I thought it was really well done although it wasn't made in 2020. Soul was pretty good and enjoyable. I also watched Birds of Prey, which isn't a good movie, but it's one of the more enjoyable ones in the genre. Never got around to watching Enola Holmes.
This year I've seen more series than anything else.
I remember liking The Florida Project, up until the ending which was lost on me. The only movie made in 2020 that I saw was Enola Holmes, which I found kind of dumb
I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion, that was the dopest series I've found in quite some time.
Also got some friends to watch a few of the documentaries on MeansTV.
12 Hour Shift and Freaky were pretty good. Guns Akimbo was also fun
Did the Michael Moore-produced environmental documentary come out in 2020? That one was pretty good and definitely made me think.

If you're looking for cute and fun, there was a christmas movie that came out last year (I think called Let It Snow). Not quite as good but it was lighthearted at least. Can't really think of any others though, sorry!
