So, I had undercover cops monitoring my house at the height of the anti-racist protests last year. Someone I was working with had their house door kicked open & their house rummaged through.
When the attack on the Capitol first started, I seriously thought it was going to be a larger, coordinated coup and I was scared for my life.
Learning how fucking stupid it all was in retrospective has me straight manic right now.
Idk that it was hard to predict that it would be stupid; it was abundantly clear ahead of time that there was no real plan or program for taking power and holding onto it. Far more physically destructive than I expected though, I'll admit.
Yeah, but other fascists & police departments getting inspired and targeting "Antifa" was possible.
The descent to civil war felt real, and I feel there's a target on my back.
Sorry, yeah, reading again I realize my reply comes off as needlessly dismissive. Your worry's definitely valid and I'm worried about targeted police violence increasing especially. My bet was just that lack of planning and the ambivalence of the most powerful capitalists most likely meant that Biden's place as figurehead is secure.
Stay safe. :fidel-salute:
I don't think you were being unreasonable to be scared after being monitored by the cops. IMO, targeted police violence is a bigger threat to us in any sort of civil war scenario as opposed to larper citizen's militia chuds
Take care of yourself, comrade.
