I didn't mean that civics weren't practical, civics are very practical! My roommate has a sedan civic and I have a miata so a civic is definitely practical to me. I meant the hatchback seems pointless since the roofline is so sloped. I was wrong about this though, it looks like the hatchback does still add a lot of cargo space. Part of me still can't believe that liftbacks are anywhere as practical as proper boxy hatchbacks, but it seems to be the case here. However, interestingly the honda fit actually has a larger cargo area than the civic hatch if you put all the seats down.
