McConaughey told hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, “We need liberals. What I don’t think we need is illiberals. What I don’t think some liberals see is they’re being cannibalized by the illiberals. There are extremes on both sides that I think are unfair… the extreme left and extreme right completely illegitimize (sic) the other side. They exaggerate the other side’s stance into an irrational state that makes no sense. That’s not fair.”

McConaughey strikes me as an idiot who doesn’t like divisiveness. He doesn’t care about ideals or have a strong moral foundation himself, he just believes everyone who is polite should get along.

I don't think so. I watched his interview with Peterson the other day and he seemed to be struggling with his mental health in a bad way.

And I'm sure fucking talking to Jordan Peterson of all people about your problems certainly won't help with that.

Ya, I was hoping his recent press tour was just some centrist posturing to woo some conservative Texans. Unfortunately it seems like he's just a decorum lib that's too dense to see the alt-right playbook for what it really is.

That's def the biggest fear, that he could be the 'competent' leader that uses centrism to maintain and extend hell world in ways that Don could never achieve.

They are both 'forward' idiots but Yang appeals to memelords and libs (the 'left') and McConaughey (supposedly, for some unknown reason) appeals to conservatives.

He sounds like your classic centrist, though it's interesting he seems to understand that leftists are illiberal.

As far as going on Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson i just read that as him playing to an audience he knows will eat up his book
