The democrats are in a position where they could do literally anything they wanted, and they're still not even sending out $2000. I'm feeling kinda dark, especially after just having pointless arguments with my folks where they were defending these monsters. Somehow I'm the idiot and accommodating Republicans while being civil is more important than saving lives.

At this point I'm mostly pissed that the entire political establishment has combined forces to ruin my relationship with my parents that I haven't seen in a year. I need to learn to keep my mouth shut and just deny the reality we can all see in front of us.
I love the "have your cake and eat it too" argument of "the leftists are giving the Republicans so much slack! They're basically the same! They're terrible fascists!" Followed by "and that's why we need to compromise with the opposition even though we have complete control of all the levers of power".
It's one of those contradictions that gives me vertigo.
