And then they won't and then 2022 will be "the most important election ever" but will end with repubs taking back the government and then 2024 will be "the most important election ever" and then Biden will win president again because the right will be split between Trump and not Trump and then 2026 will just be more Republicans in power and then 2028 will be "the most important election ever" and they'll run another shitty right wing Dem and then we'll get Trump 2.0 but more competent this time them 2030 will be "the most important election ever" and then we'll die from global warming.

    Bourgeoisie Electoralism is useless

I don't think Bourgeois Electoralism is useless, just hopeless. I know for myself Bernie running exposed me to new ideas that I wouldn't have been exposed to otherwise. I was fully caught in the unthinking lib dynamic like I'm sure many others were as well. Using elections to agitate and radicalize people is cool and good and should absolutely be used more. No, it's not how socialists will come to power. But they can be used as a tool. And from that perspective Bernie's campaign was incredibly useful to me and other baby leftists who are now aware there are other options. Using electoralism to start off the radicalization pipeline is huge.

Motherfuckers actually in the replies citing that as evidence that it’s not easy to just get things done when you have a majority. They’re literally looking at a blue sky, being told it’s red, and then through sheer force of will rewiring their brain to perceive it as red anyway

I have family members and friends who pull that shit and it annoys me like nothing else. It's like you start at the conclusion that Obama, our saintly leader before Orange Man, had entirely good intentions and vision. Nevermind that his proposals were directly killed off because he got reminded by his Big Pharma donors about the hand that fed him throughout his campaign.

The people who do know Obama damn well had power to do more use the "he didn't want to become a dictator" copout.

Pretty sure the date is wrong. It should say Jan 21, 2009.

He was more of a Biden apologist even before Super Tuesday, and in general (like Intercept colleague Lee Fang) sucks and consistently has bad takes

Sorry you can’t have health care otherwise Joe Manchin might lose his seat in two years and we have to treat him gently and give him foot rubs.

Not for the budget reconciliation. And that’s where Bernie comes in. He has the power to push his agenda through without any Republican support. It will be massively popular, especially amongst the West Virginia working class voters.

The party can have the “unity” and centrist leadership of Biden, with the agenda of Bernie.
