There is just too much propaganda and entrenched opposition. Let's focus on a fight we can actually win: redefining an hour to be 29 minutes
As Zizek said "It is easier to imagine a redefining of liminal time than it is to imagine a decent minimal wage" :zizek-ok:
honestly let's just make it the funny sex number and be done with it
This but seriously. Factor in 8 weeks of vacation and you're getting ~60k a year. Solid work life balance, solid standard of living.
lmao, this reminds me of how in Canada our House of Commons is required to meet until 6:30pm from Monday to Thursday. However, if the MP's want to go home early the process to do so involves them “ seeing the clock at ” (pretending it says) 6:30pm, regardless of the actual time. I agree with this proposal because time for our government is whatever they want it to be, so I see no reason why we can't extend that to the rest of society.
I think it could. Some big businesses already pay it, they could shutter out smaller businesses anyways (most of which shouldnt exist anyways). Then they can stay at that standard for an even longer time than they did 7.25, as they'll have even less reason to he competitive with wages.
