I remember as late as circa 2019 even your average non-berniecrat lib could articulate a critique of Trump's immigration policy, but since Trump's policy became Biden's policy you'd think they've always cheered on the wall and the internment camps

Seems like what we have here is the ratchet effect on steroids

they protested because Turmp was doing it. no other reason. wrap it in liberal reasoning instead of right wing reasoning, and they’d go for it.

I feel like the only hated the wall because Trump was the one putting it up. Libs always defended Hilary when ever she talked about erecting a barrier of fence.

Guys, it's just because we have a migrant crisis!

It's not like we could treat these people humanely, we have much more important matters on hand

Like how to get more cluster munitions to Ukraine and tax breaks for war profiteers

Remember, the militarization of the border and the already-existing border wall started with Clinton's Operation Gatekeeper. Liberals were never about open borders with Mexico, no surprise there.

Trump just wanted a continuous wall along the entire southern border from California to Texas, but the first to build a wall and militarize it was a Democrat. Trump's wall was just the logical conclusion to Clinton's. I used to rub this in libs' faces and they'd deny it, but now that Biden did this they would probably openly defend it again.

It was money earmarked and approved and passed in 2019 under the trump administration to be used for the wall.

They're currently trying to prosecute trump for not using congretionally passed money earmarked in order to be sent to Ukraine.

If Biden didn't use that money to build that portion of Wall that congress voted to have done then it would have put Biden in the same position trump is getting prosecuted for. Biden doesn't have the authority to go against congress on that portion of wall being built.

Okay so maybe a Executive Order to balance this so called necessary evil? Some fucking olive branch other than "Sry Jack my hands are tied". Any kind of justice for Migrants? Amnesty for those locked up? Federally maintained and decent housing for the detained instead of a fucking prison? Food and water? Granting citizenship? He can't do shit huh? FUCK, maybe some lip service that isn't a defense of his administration?

"The most progressive president ever elected."

He can pardon people with impunity outside if the context of him getting impeached. Let's see him pardon migrants, and maybe all the people imprisoned by the Clinton crime bill that he said "oopsie whoopsie, sowwies!" to and then did nothing to help.
