The problem is that it doesn't carry any weight when they say it. Especially in light of their power sharing agreement with Senate Republicans. Can't constantly talk about how dangerous and unhinged the Republicans are if you're always trying to pick out the "good ones".
I don't think this is necessarily a bad strategy in its own right. This won't be the reason they get blown out in the midterms.

sure, they're not going to do it well, but a committed effort to paint the Republican partya completely unhinged would be effective, I think
True. I guess whatever they do will be good enough for most of their base. Not sure how much its going to win over independents though.
