There’s something inherently repulsive about smarmy liberal language, and the juxtaposition with Playboy is just too much

yeonmi-park In the repressive regime of the American Empire, they make you take your clothes off in order to receive food and housing. Then they have a national TV show that films your family being murdered and if you say anything about it they pretend you are a child and try to take your food and housing away.

Based Mia. Playboy has always been a liberal elitist wannabe publication. What little 'journalism" they've actually done over the years is just a cliff notes Rolling Stone with porn and extra spicy misogyny on top.

No, but they used to publish interviews with politicians and some other important people. Iirc, an interview that Jimmy Carter gave to Playboy talking about cutting aid to the military Juntas in South America (mostly because Brazil and Argentina were developing Nuclear Weapons with West Germany's help) which caused panic and accelerated their collapse.

Yeah. "I just read it for the articles", was as much a real thing as a joke. Playboy hired many serious writers and journalists to pen articles for them over the years. In terms of page count the nudes were a relatively small part of the magazine. Certainly the focus, but if you just wanted to read it for the articles there were often articles worth reading.

To piggyback on what @captcha@hexbear.net said, most significant sci-fi authors of the 60's and 70's found their mainstream audiences through Playboy (though obviously in retrospect most of what they wrote was fairly reactionary trash, but better reactionary trash than the majority of fiction that was written then), even people like Isaac Asimov wrote fiction for Playboy at one point. Otherwise they were never really known for their "journalism".

It's one thing to fire her for celebrating the death. It's not like that's the happy part of decolonization. It's another thing to tell me about play boys HR decision. My guess is that they're trying to get ahead of Mia complaining about the company

I figured out how to navigate nitter to see her tweets and holy hell I thought Reddit was bad. I'm immediately convinced that the goal of the Israeli state is to stoke as much antisemitism as possible.

unironically yes. the entity wants Jews outside of Israel to feel unsafe to encourage aliyah

Yup. Bibi and company are famously chummy with Orban specifically because fascism terrorizes Jewish people to the point where many of them consider Israel the only place they can be safe. It's very much by design; Zionists want the world to believe that all Jews are Zionists and Zionism is the only correct way to be Jewish in order to strengthen their position. Antisemitic lies serve that goal.

Forced Zionism was literally what Hitler wanted and was his plan A, it was just logistically infeasible. He wanted to deport all jews to a colony and give them their own ethnostate so that Germany could be an Aryan ethnostate. Obviously it was a stupid ass plan and would never have worked, which is why he went to his plan B of just killing everyone.

In addition, you'll rarely find a group more virulently anti-semitic than American evangelical hardliners, who are the firmest Zionists outside of Israel anywhere on Earth. They literally want jews to be the fuel that lights armageddon, they want to install a jewish Jerusalem so that there can be global nuclear war to fulfill their apocalyptic death cult delusions. What is more anti-semitic than wanting to group all the jews into one place and blow it up to create Christian heaven on earth?

They also give material support to Azov nazis, so they’re actually creating an unsafe environment for Jews. But you’re self hating if you have anything remotely negative to say about Israel as a Jewish person

I remember when this woman called out all the major porn companies and websites for not paying her and taking advantage of her, and the entire porn industry proceeded to slander her, call her a liar, and set up dedicated pages on their websites to "debunk" what she said. No surprises here unfortunately.

She also received a lot of hate from incels and conservatives for talking about being mistreated or taken advantage of, because she did porn, so that means she deserved it. And as always, they were all very familiar with her scenes but hated her anyway

I still can't even believe that shit is a real app. You just dance to some music or whatever while text appears on the screen? Feels like some shit they make up for a crappy live action nickelodeon show for kids.

Like they explain the idea, all the kids on the show are inexplicably loving it, then they cut to someone's mom doing the macarena while her recipe for gummy worm cookies appears on screen, laugh track, end of gag.

Except it's not the end. That shit is real. That shit is real and somehow after several years of being an extremely awkward and objectively terrible way of conveying feelings and information, it is more popular than ever. Fuckin' unreal to me.

I guess I'm just out of touch and can't comprehend the splendor of literally YouTube but with a somehow worse, more limited video player shrug-outta-hecks

ok guys, its bad but its not what youre describing lol. yall are being a bit too much. its not even mostly dancing vids, the dancing vids are just what the algorithm gives you when you open a new account. you only keep getting them if you interact with them. frankly i think tictok is bad for the OPPOSITE reason, it give you such a targeted experience pushes you into these toxic pipelines. if it were all dumb dancing and fluff it wouldn't be so dangerous.

This is my boomer moment for sure, but I have a fair number of same-aged friends who watch TikTok basically nonstop and I just don't get it. Vines were good, but that was mostly because it was 95% comedy sketches built around the format. Outside of that niche, short-form videos (on what is easily the world's worst video player UI) just kinda suck. Either they're too short to get to the good stuff, or have to cut a ton of context to fit the time limit, or are just people dancing over TTS.

It just feels like weaponized attention deficits. Youtube is a much better platform, minus all the Nazis.
