They’re either a bad artist or I’m uneducated, but I can’t tell who most of these people are.

    And auth centrist Hitler?

That subreddit has utterly distorted the views of hundreds of thousands of redditors who unironically argue ALL OVER REDDIT that the Nazis are auth-centre.

They place monarchy right of Hitler in order to put him in auth-centre.

It is an op to shift Hitler out of the "far right" label and has been going for a very very long time, successfully.

Yes, the fucking dogshit political compass test is nothing but "up=homophobic, right=lasseiz-faire" because it melds a fundamentally 3-dimensional set of questions to a 2 axis chart.

Jerking it to shirtless Murry Rothbard is so far beyond the issue of "You people don't understand the political compass". But putting Fascism in the center isn't out of line.

If we're being specific to the period, Fascism absolutely is a centrist political philosophy between the end points of monarchism and communism. Absent a government of hereditary aristocrats, it's easy to throw up your hands and say "A dictatorship is a dictatorship, what's the difference?!" but at the time there was a huge ideological shift from "Only blue bloods have the innate capacity to rule" to "Literally anyone sufficiently black-pilled can govern our nation".

There is also a perpetual desire to make German Fascism some kind of unique and exceptional form of evil. As though genocide was something the Germans invented, rather than an epidemic of social violence that had been plaguing mankind for millenia. Hitler wasn't special. He was one demagogue in an era riddled with them. One more anti-Semite engaging in a tradition dating back to the Inquisition. And the notion that he wasn't "centrist" because we've turned him into a Saturday Morning Cartoon villain is going to blind people to all the other nightmarish characters that have infested western governments before and since.

Centrism is not anti-genocide. Never has been.

As a German, I feel like we’re one of the few nations who actually constantly teach our young generations of the atrocities our nation has committed, like, it’s 70% of our history classes. We constantly get reminded of what Nazi Germany did. I don’t think any country or culture does that to this extent.

And I feel like some people use the opportunity to just point to us while sweeping their own nation‘s history under the rug.

Yes, what Hitler did was a genocide of an unprecedented scale. But Germany isn’t the only country with a „dark past“. Germany isn’t an outlier. Yet Hitler is one of the first things people associate with Germany.

        Uneducated it is then.

I see OP posted who they were, but just to embarrass myself, I’ll put who I thought they were.

        Auth left: Stalin

        Auth center: Hitler

Auth right: I had no clue, I had never seen a picture of Pinochet and assumed he wasn’t white because most Chilean people I’ve seen are not. This just looked like generic evil white guy who could be a villain in a metal gear solid game.

Center-left: He looked familiar but I couldn’t place him

Centrist: Idiots missing half of their skull who post on PCM

Center-right: Idk one of the founding fathers. John Adams maybe?

        Lib left: Freddy Mercury

Lib Center: Karl Marx, Matisyahu, or Socrates

        Lib right: Ben Stein

I read it as based on their colors. Stalin is all red so he’s the auth right corner. Hitler is auth centrist so he’s max auth, but midpoint between left and right.

The original one is known for skewing towards libleft. It also has stupid questions like what you think about astrology. I just took one called 10groups which has more spectrums and nuance, 8values is also pretty good for this, what do you guys think about these? https://10groups.github.io/ https://8values.github.io/ *10 groups is based on sapply and 8values

Yeah that might be the best one I've done. I like that it touches on topics like gender, nuclear energy, monarchy whereas most tests don't. There were a few weird questions like ~"differences between men and women can partially be attributed to hormones" where I think it would be hard to disagree.

Pretty mild stances compared to most people here I think but I like to think I'm not a lib lol, they came out pretty consistent with one another. https://leftvalues.github.io/results.html?a=52.9&b=58.8&c=40.0&d=71.4&e=55.8&f=29.2&g=29.4 https://www.politiscales.net/en_US/results/?j1=14&j0=64&s0=79&s1=5&b1=10&b0=69&c0=50&c1=29&p1=5&p0=76&femi=38&t0=45&t1=29&e1=29&e0=48&m1=5&m0=81&prag=67&anar=67

Every time I go on reddit I instantly realise it's a mistake. I get downvoted for quoting MLK Jr and calling out racists, and it just fucking sucks so bad. My local subreddit (r/southafrica) had a post on the front page with an extremely racist caricature/comic that trivialised domestic violence with hundreds of upvotes and I got downvoted and called "triggered" for saying it's racist. Fuck reddit, it can burn in a fire of shit.

I've removed my news based subs from reddit and now I only go there for my hobby based subs. I can't wait until federation is implemented so I can start encouraging those subs to move over to lemmy.

At least they got the Mahkno lib-left correct. Every time I go on to PCM it absolutely blows my mind how these people have no idea what a libertarian left-wing ideology actually is. And it's probably because any self-proclaimed "lib-left" person who goes onto PCM and just jokes with the fellas is a pretty bad representative.
