Same. I also wish that media representation of trans people wasn't transphobic garbage for most of my childhood.

yep i remember seeing some sort of special on a trans porn actress and they basically made her out to be this absolutely crazy person that wanted a billion surgeries because she was addicted

and like... all that she really wanted was to fix a botched boob job after getting srs, ffs, and a boob job

i remember being like, disgusted at her due to the phrasing of it, but i also felt a lot of empathy towards her. it was weird growing up in a transphobic environment. id meet a lot of it with pure revulsion while also being disgusted at myself, very strange

Our school only taught the L and G parts so I didn't know trans people existed for a while. The first trans person I heard of was caitlyn jenner and she's a terrible trans icon.

              Fuck.

As a cis dude I can't even begin to understand how much shit like this must have hurt, but yeah. Just holy fuck.

And the same to you @kristina for your comment above. No one deserves that.

Yeah, for real. I remember avoiding my parents in case they yelled at me for something arbitrary they decided I had done. I could not imagine the terror of being yelled at for who I was. Now I'm crying :hexbear-trans: solidarity, comrades.

I don't know... I grew up in a deep red state in bumpkin country and after I got out of HS I found out that two kids a few years behind me grew up to be trans ladies.

So.... shrugs ... they might be on to something.

Just like "Joe Biden is a Marxist" and "Colleges are Marxist indoctrination centers", this shows how Conservatives still think this country is much better than it actually is. I mean, how can Conservatives continue to lie to themselves like this to still believe America is the greatest nation on earth!
