These dudes are more viciously racist than some western fascists. Same old master race story too. If you aren’t born Japanese in Japan, you don’t belong according to them

You want some real nightmare shit then read up on how japanese courts work. They judges are basically there just punish anyone the police puts infront of them
So it's basically identical to Americas system?
https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2019/01/05/national/media-national/international-scrutiny-japans-criminal-justice-system-fair/
Only real difference is a rich guy got arrested.
Their prosecution system had like a near-perfect record. You literally have to be perfectly innocent with air-tight proof to have a fraction of a chance of walking free if you're in their courtsystem
Japanese courts have a conviction rate of 99.9% which is near identical to the 99.8% conviction rate seen in American federal courts . Today a federal defendant is 2900% more likely to be convicted than in the 1970s. State justice systems also generally match these numbers closely.
The conviction rate is what.
I believe the disparity, if I remember correctly, is actually in arrests - people who get arrested have a very high rate of conviction apparently.
They can hold people without charges for like an entire month instead of a day, and they spend that time basically torturing the prisoners with sleep deprivation and sometimes assault.
While nearly every aspect of the Japanese justice system is cruel and inhumane for defendants, the 99.9% conviction rate is only speaking to cases in which charges are pursued, and not all arrests.
Of the over 1 million arrests made in Japan for Penal Code violations, over 60% of such cases are suspended by the prosecution instead of being referred to the courts .
Why is their incarceration rate so low though? 17 times lower than America's (.639% vs .038% of the population), which doesn't say much itself since the US is the highest in the world, but Japan is also one of the lowest in the world too (see here and here)
Because they're so racist they don't allow anyone to immigrate in. Having no minorities to jail because you keep them out might be the only positive thing from that shit island.
That's probably a big part of it. But Japan is like 2% immigrants while China is only 0.1%, and China has about twice the relative prisoners
China has a lower % of immigrants because it has a huge population and wasn't seen as a desirable place to live not too long ago - it still isn't seen as desirable to a lot of people. China is also a poorer country, meaning more criminality and incarceration. These latter factors being a lot more important in terms of policing and criminality than immigration.
The last part makes a lot of sense. The first part is also because China has very strict immigration policies, only recently did they make things more lenient for foreigners with major contributions/those with high-incomes to become citizens, and the vast majority of their refugees are all from Vietnam in the 70s
We talking comparisons of percentages or raw numbers here
Percentages, China is actually 3 times higher (.121% vs .038% incarcerated)
Huh I wonder why
Wut? Are you saying that the crime rate is low because there are no minorities? The crime rate is low in Japan because people commit less crime there, what do minorities have to do with anything?

Almost any case that would have had a "not guilty" verdict will get dropped before it gets to that point.

I've seen this spun as "In Japan the police are so good at their job that they only ever prosecute people who actually did it" by clueless libs.
Personally I think their 1 party mockery of democracy is a bigger problem.
It’s kinda different because the prosecutors only really bring cases where there is an abundance of evidence to convict normally. Or they used to.
This leads to the problem where judges believe the only reason the case was brought before them is because there is an abundance of evidence, even when there really isn’t
Don’t get me wrong, both systems suck, but I’d rather have the Japanese one
