three separate accounts of MLK Jr.‘s life and not a single one of them has acknowledged that he was black.

I remember my first grade class basically saying that racism ended in the 1960s.

Also, Martin Luther King was the only civil rights activist taught in any detail. There were cursory mentions of Malcolm X and The Black Panthers.

I'm pretty certain Malcom X was taught as a contemporary of King's who was not as peaceful and The Black Panthers were just a group that existed.

Yes. I firmly believe we have at least a slim chance because Zoomers are the first generation who's injection of this shit was seriously disrupted.

OK new life goal: My daughter will one day be known as The Dragon Who Slew Capitalism. She'll definitely send me to the gulag for being a lib, and I'll go with a big ol smile on my face.

Propaganda is bad everywhere. I think there is a legit correlation between how much military/police/state/religious propaganda you are exposed to and how entrenched your country is in the global capitalist system.

I ran the gamut of education with a private pre-k through 5th grade, was homeschooled for middle school, and public for high school (with both private college and community college for a few years after.) The years I spent homeschooling were productive in some senses and unproductive in others. In some studies I was able to really dig into what I wanted to. In others I was trapped in a cage within a cage unable to escape the frustrations of difficult subjects because I was literally living with them. Homeschooling your kid will take alot of dedication and alot of empathy. I truly value those years because it allowed me to learn alot more about history than I would have in a traditional school; which would help me contextualize things later in life as I started reading both philosophy and leftist theory. On the other hand I still suck with numbers in any situation just like when I was a child. I don't really know where I'm going with this at is at this point, but for your child's sake I hope you put your heart into it if you do decide to homeschool.

I totally understand. We were dead last to have kids. What few friends I have all had their spawn years before we went upstream.

I actually think we might be able to afford home school but it would be an insane sacrifice since wife and I have just about income parity. She'd never go for it but it could be doable since we keep our bills ultra low.

Most people passively adopts this kind of propaganda without giving it too much thought. How should one go about taking to someone like that without coming off as a know-it-all or a conspiracy nut?

I think they expect your daughter to be smart enough to understand MLK is black without it being pointed out to her.

Listening to the Proles Pod episode on Black Bolshevik at work right now and I’m messaging my brother in high school history class (same one I had in school actually) and telling him to ask the teacher why they don’t teach Haywood, the army letter to the French army regarding “negro soldiers,” and anything else I can think of.

this is why I mostly avoided school and go.. no it's not, it's because if you're enough of a dissident problem child they will literally kick you out and sputter for excuses. be a good parent; tell your daughter that on any day she's not kicked out of school for something that isn't either nonviolent or hilarious, or can't cite something she got away with that was awesome, she's...

grounded or something. and only gets to use her devices via ssh from an ancient piece of shit running, like, slackware or a version of arch she has to configure herself or something.
