    This is an ignorant thread.

Been maoists and Marxists openly in organising in a number of Indian states for a very many decades - Kerala is the primary example. It doesn't mean shit - India as a whole is in the grasp of consolidated fascist positions. Hindu nationalism has been extant for over a century now and its only become more malignant as time has gone on.

Started in response to British colonial rule, a few decades a few armed struggles, a partition and a contested region later and...you had Modi, a Hindu nationalist fascist POS seen as the safe pair of hands for continued neoliberalisation of the country's economy.

It's not going away because you're seeing some hammer and sickle iconography online.

Pretty misleading tbh. You act as if the fascist party has been entrenched in power for decades. Please go read about early Congress party, some of it’s more ambitious policies, and indo-soviet relations. This farmers’ protest is huge and Modi’s government is hemorrhaging popular support.

India is literally the global soutb, you’re seriously telling me a worker’s revolution is not possible in one of the poorest countries on the planet?

Yeah, the electoral decline of the left in India in recent years has been disheartening and has followed a trend that you can see in Europe, but the situation is far from hopeless. There are minor Communist and leftist parties in India that have membership numbers and a level of organization that would make any American or UK leftist jealous.

I am saying not to rely on a workers revolution because that’s some wishful simp shit.

That is literally the point of socialism, ain't nobody gonna save the workers except themselves

Westerners know as much about India and China as they do about their own countries (nothing).

I'd welcome your input on what is incorrect about my statements.

There have been numerous BJP backed riots and murders of Muslim people literally incited by the state, supported by the fascists on the streets. What about that screams successful fertile ground for the next vanguard of revolutionary struggle against the oppressive state?

I saw an article a month or two ago about one of the marxist parties attempting to merge the leftist parties into a larger party. If that happens, anything is possible given enough time

I highly doubt it, the left in India while still pretty strong has been declining for years in the face of the far right. Kerala is the main stronghold of communist strength in India right now though they lost a lot of seats in other parts of the country this past decade. As far as militant communists in India, the most notable force are the Naxalite Maoists which are growing weaker every year, though they likely still number in the tens of thousands and have footholds in many tribal areas.

I wish people here would stop stanning the Naxalites, or acting like they're important to the larger communist movement or what's happening in India now- they have a long history of assassinating communist leaders in India. There are multiple communist parties in India that have far more power and influence than the Naxalites.

Probably not. Trade Unionism doesn't usually lead to revolution. At best, we could hope for a leftist victory in the next elections, but that's a long shot. Even then, they'll probably be neutralized in power.

India doesn't have enough natural resources relative to its population for a petro-welfare state, like we often see in elected leftist governments. They need investment to grow the economy, and that means concessions to capital. And no, China won't step in to save them.

Anything is possible, but I’ve read and heard farm workers and farm owners are building stronger solidarity everyday. Revolutions don’t happen over night and the capitalists have some pretty gigantic upper hands, but this is how they start.

Various south american countries and Catalonia seem far more likely to pop in my opinion.

The situation will change as water scarcity and displacement of people will generate massive unrest though 10-20 years from now.

where did you see the images?

most of the world is probably more likely to repeat Nazi Germany than fall to a workers' revolution, I'm afraid

They’ve been protesting there for awhile now so that’s probably where they saw them . Idk if the whole country will come under communist control but Kerala has been communist controlled for a long time
