Punk basically froze in time 30 years ago. Self referrentiality is a really big thing in punk. I'm talking crust/dbeat kinda stuff. We're aware of it and it's kinda tongue in cheek
I've noticed the internet disrockers. You can spot the difference from a mile away. Clearly intentional patch pants, studs aren't offset, or god forbid pyramid studs. This comes from wanting to look like a dirty punk but skipping the actually being dirty.
That's silly as hell. Like, I dress super punk but a great deal of people who are very heavily involved dress pretty normal and that's chill. I live in a big enough place to have a scene but small enough people can't just go off in their own corners.
I guess there is a bit of a bar pop punk scene that's seperate but it's mostly Screeching Weasels sorta Ramones worship stuff which can be fun
We have it pretty good. Everyone more or less knows each other and there's a central DIY space for shows, meetings, recordings jamming, free food fridge, screen printing etc. So the main venue/jam space for DIY music of whatever genre is also the main leftist space. It works pretty great

You can't win with fashion. Most guys have 2 choices dress super generic or look like a guy from the big bang theory or Guy Fieri. I still floss on all of them yo. I look like a Chav ass punk bitch with orthopaedic shoes so I gotta be doing something right.
r/streetwear is pretty cool but a lot of the stuff you’ll see on there is expensive petit boug shit that costs hundreds, or even thousands of dollars per outfit. You do occasionally find thriftier fits on there, but not as often as I’d like to see.
The funny thing about that sub is how stuck they are on the “i just learned to dress myself” phase.

I have a tattoo of something that only matters if you were 15-19 in the summer of ‘01 in a certain region of the US, or if you’re 18-24 and browse certain facebook groups or had a really older sibling, so egg on my face.

fr tho the downstairs is generally pretty static in nice fitting trousers, and discomfort can be relieved by on-site adjustment. but there's also plenty of reasons why thicker-stiffer pants might not work for you, everyone's body is different, and tailoring can vary wildly. ain't no thing if it don't work for you
my only advice to offer is maybe different underwear. a tighter fitting underpant can keep things closer to where you want (only applicable if it can be done comfortably tho)
happened to me once while I was in a movie theatre. I was with my wife's friend and she started rubbing my arm, then looked down and saw my fabric bunched up. Thought it was a boner. The whole movie I had to sit next her, was so awkward.

I'm more of a fan of maximalism at the moment tbh. Maybe it's just my irrational backlash against all the minimalistic stuff that seems to be trending everywhere and pushed by tech companies. Though a lot of minimalist looks are sheek and cool af at the same time.
Just definitely not a fan of the Steve Jobs style of minimalism where people wear the same basic outfit every day that actually costs a ton of money for no reason and sleep on the floor because a bed is too much clutter. Feels kinda cult like. Example
I still have no understanding of how pants are chosen over skirts for anything but hard labour/exercise. You can insert an arbitrarily large pocket into a full skirt and they layer for the cold and heat better.
Also, before the 20th century pants were often front-falled (kind of a double breasted button front), so they didn't have that rough seam, and they used braces for support.

I don’t care anymore. I’ll wear whatever “fashion” doesn’t make me stand out in a crowd or whatever. Nowadays I’m just too lazy to buy more clothes (aside from them being expensive). I want to full embrace the zizek style of dressing

i've always dressed pretty butch, in part because I've never been comfortable being perceived as particularly feminine, and in part because a lot of the women's clothes ("women's clothes") are super irritating and my autistic ass cannot handle a cap sleeves or non-pockets.
That said, fashion got a lot more fun for me once I started playing with gender a bit more and incorporating some more feminine pieces into my wardrobe. Give me a cardigan that looks like some grandma wallpaper that I can wear under my varsity jacket with my stompy boots, that shit's fun
