Make fun of him all you want, this guy is right: Communism seems like a much better idea once you are able to read about what is happening in the world, acquaint yourself with leftist thinking and you don't have to rely on what your lord or priest is telling you.

Maybe literacy is always the first priority of communist revolutions because it's so important?? How can you industrialise properly if your population is illiterate? How can you hold meaningful elections if large portions of the population are illiterate?

Just don't industrialize. The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Just don't vote. Voting is bourgois. Just have good leaders.

You, an ignorant fool: we need to vote to ensure our leaders are representative and accountable

Me, a 150 iq chad, because i’m different: why not simply have a good leader appear spontaneously

Ah, I finally get it. They don't hate us because of our beliefs - they hate us because we are goddamn nerds.

Poland is funny man... like your most famous dudes and dudettes of somewhat recent history were (other than Marie Sklodowska-Curie) gay asf (Chopin) or highly educated big-time commies like Hermaszewski and now they're like "yeah fuck gays and commies and knowing how to read, back to the wies guys"

"Fun" fact about Poland and literacy: The poles the nazis intended to use as slave labourers, rather than being straight up murdered, were only to receive enough schooling to be able to read simple instructions. Everything above that level was considered wasteful and dangerous by the nazis.

Slavers in the Americas had similar ideas and illiteracy was deliberately being used as a tool to suppress enslaved people and prevent them from resisting.

Radio is extremely effective propaganda and doesn’t require teaching people to read

"We need Marxism in our struggle. In our acceptance of his theory no such formalisation of mystical notion as that of "prophecy" ever enters our minds. Many who have read Marxist books have become renegades from the revolution, whereas illiterate workers often grasp Marxism very well. Of course we should study Marxist books, but this study must be integrated with our country's actual conditions. We need books, but we must overcome book worship, which is divorced from the actual situation.

How can we overcome book worship? The only way is to investigate the actual situation."
