Yes. Workers building the pyramids were documented as going on strike due to not being paid.
What about the Romans? They had wide scale general strikes.
High INT means you know how to build advanced hierarchial society. High WIS means you know thats a terrible idea.

That INT build looks pretty good, I've heard it's sort of a meta strat.
Its meta yeah, but requires a lot of cooperation and planning since you take both DEX AND STR hits for the language skills. Population growth is very limited for 99.9% of gameplay as well.
Yeah, gotta put a lot of tech points into unlocking agriculture, but once you have that and bread baking, it gets pretty good.

Put points into researching a civic called "Communism" it helps out a lot, but the game has some balances and mechanics that attempt to stop you from implementing all the benefits of that civic. But once you've got it, you're set for a long time.
